The neutron has great utility as a controller for another synth. If you do not use the patchbay in your sounds you have a free s&h, slew and a sort of mixer with sum1 and sum2 available. Those things would cost as much as a neutron unit if you would purchase them as separate modules.

I am actually considering making this very same move to analog. It's been a while, and I have never really delved into modular (and have no real desire to), but this has been looking like a bit of a bridge to something I can't wait to pursue. Great tracks in this video, by the way! I like your writing style, it's very similar to my own. :) Anyway, thank you for this important walk-through of your developing acquaintance with these synths. They've helped me solidify my own decision to break into this area. My MC-707 is a lot of fun, but aside from my softsynth collection, I'm in need of something deeper. I think Behringer nailed it here!!! Thanks again! Great work! 😃

@real2reel9473 жыл бұрын
I have a Model D, Neutron and a Pro 1 aswell. While they are fun to play with I don't really have practical uses for them writing music with them because they can't store patches... yes the parameters can be written down but I go thru so many it just makes it obsolete in the end for my particular application. Currently they are sitting back in their boxes while I am running more of the Novation Mini Nova, Roland System8 and jp8000 and a Korg Ms20, I also have a Behringer Deepmind 12 in the mix. They seem to suit my needs at the moment, although I do like using the pro1 sometimes for buzzy basses. I run a master midi clock signal that originates from a Yamaha Rm1X. The Behringer desktops seem to have a hiccup when I add a sequenced delay sometimes. It's not all the time, but it's not dependable in that sense either, while the others do not. I may add that the deepmind 12 is a lot more on point for that circumstance aswell, as opposed to the desktop mono synths. I do most of the triggering with an Arturia Keystep, which I absolutely think is a great controller! I must admit though overall and for simpler applications I am impressed! They are definitely great and lush sounding and can be almost impossible to tell from the originals, I know I can't! GREAT VIDEO!!!!!

Todd, you make your Minimoog sound so phat, I think it needs an appoinment with the weight loss surgeon! I'm with you with the Pro1, you would think it would be a little like duplicating the Mini, with both being analog subtractive, but their sound is quite different and they complement each other.

Would love to know how it all connects and sequences? I have crave, RD8, Juno boutique and use the keystep as a brain

In this video I used Korg Gadget in most cases and midi. Right now I'm using the MC-707 as my sequencer in the studio

Agreed! I have 7 and love all 7! Wasp, model d, pro -1, cat, crave, vc-340, rd-8! I would have more but i already own the ms-20 and arp oddesey but their oddesey still calls me! The pro 800 looks amazing as does the 2600! I hope they stay on it

GNTHR im sure it does but having a ms-20 kinda cancels it. The oddesey only attracts me because of the on board effects and sequencer. Yet, still has not made me leap, if i did not have em, id have behringers. :)

Would suggest the deepmind 12 too my dude. That thing is incredible for the price (as all of them are) but its like a juno-106 on a shitton of steroids. My behringer collection is slowly growing too (I plan to get most of them honestly) but I played my buddies deepmind a while back and it was pretty unforgettable being able to play around with. And he really does some cool shit with it in his set up, so I figured just wanted to mention it, seems like something you may be able to use and enjoy bud :)

I have to get the Edge. Not going to get a DFAM when Edge has MIDI and USB. One of fav hardware synths is the Waldorf Rocket. Using that as a 303 or for riser fx types sounds and basslines. Or just using the awesome filter. If I'm getting hardware over software then it has to do something special to be worth it otherwise I'm just going to use software stuff for basic sounds.

Subscribed Man... I think to be honest Roland and Korg have had their day now. Its time to roll over rover and let Behringer and Arturia take over....!

This is some nice music you are making, especially that last piece. You should do film scoring for action movies.
