I like that you started with the worst first and went to the best for last, ending on a high note lol. I've never grown Lithops, they look so prehistoric. I am still relatively new to Hoyas and I find that they can be easy but they are all so different and some can have drastically different care requirements. Some of mine like leca and some hate it 🤷♀️ Your pink lady is so beautiful 🤩

Lovely! Global Green reverts to dark green sometimes. Small and compact leaves, I have two. Yours looks like an Emerald Green and it's gorgeous! I hope my Emerald gets as big as yours.

I’ve been debating if I want to actually add a global green to my collection. Every now and then I see them at the grocery store or big box stores. But I’ve yet to buy one because it’s so similar to my emerald. Thank you 💚💚💚.

Happy New Year Gena! I have 6 Hoyas and one I've had about 15 years. Never had root rot. I use a mix of half succulent/ cacti mix and half orchid bark which seems to give the roots good aeration. Don't know if this helps. We all have struggle plants, right? I can't keep a violet alive no matter how many times I try. XO

Happy New Year Molly❤️❤️❤️. I use a pretty chunky soil, similar to what you are using. I think some Hoya just hate me lol. But you’re right, we all have a struggle plant or two or three 😊.

@@ThePinkTrellis HI Gena! I am so jealous of your Hoya Keraii! Mine was a small cutting two years ago...and still is! It's in a South facing window but it s o slow growing! It will get a leaf but then sometimes it drops it before it matures. Arghhh!
@ThePinkTrellis2 жыл бұрын
@@mollys1584 for me moving it into bright light made a big difference. A south window certainly gives you bright light so I’m not sure why yours isn’t growing for you yet. Perhaps it just needs more time to settle in. I think sometimes for some plants, that can take years. Hopefully yours starts growing soon 😊.

Loved this! I also have a Hoya Obovata that looks just like yours! It’s also 2-3 years old but has never flowered for me either. I love my Krohniani super silver and noticed a few days ago it has FOUR peduncles - it’ll be flowering for the first time! I’m so excited. I had to move it to an area with indirect light when I first got it.
@ThePinkTrellis2 жыл бұрын
We’ll have to compare notes this year on our similar Obovatas!!! I hope they bloom for us 🤞🤞🤞. That’s so awesome that your super silver has 4 peduncles!!! That’s another one that hasn’t bloomed for me. I think you may be on to something. I moved my super silver into my ikea cabinet and it got super high light under the grow lights. Maybe that’s why it crashed on me???? Certainly another possibility. I definitely won’t put it back in there when I repot it. You may have solved my mystery with that one 😊.
@M-I-T2 жыл бұрын
@@ThePinkTrellis Yes! Let’s do a check in on our Obovatas! I sure hope your Krohniana has a hood comeback, it is such a beautiful plant. I think my local nursery mispriced the pot - $37 for a huge full super silver. Was crushed when it started declining so I repotted it into a chunkier soil and a ceramic pot, and moved it back to indirect lighting. Within a week I could see a difference - much perkier.
@ThePinkTrellis2 жыл бұрын

Lovely plants. My best plant for 2022 is my Xerosicyos danguyi ( silver dollar vine). I bought it as a tiny cutting a few years ago and it is now in an 8 inch pot. I put outside this summer and it was attacked by pests. It is now inside, pest free and finally growing again. My worst plant is my Alocasia flying squid. It is now in a ziplock bag and I am hopping for the best…I love the way you style your plants.

I love the silver dollar vine too!!!! They are the perfect little round plant and a must have if you love round leaves, which I do 😊. I have found them to be very slow to start growing in my care but then they just take off. I bet your 8 incher is a real beauty!!!! I don’t have a single Alocasia in my collection….so I understand lol. I hope yours pulls through 🤞. Thank you so much!!!!❤❤❤

I love Hoya but I can’t get a baby in a tiny pot or really even get a cutting to adult hood. I kill them all. I killed a pep too but honestly I just got sick of it. I root rot them too, for the same reason you do. I think I underwater and so begins the destruction. 😂. I just scored an ikea cabinet on marketplace so I’m hoping it gives me a central place for cuttings and special needs plants that I can hover over and nurse to adult hood. We shall see! Happy New Year Gena!

@ThePinkTrellis2 жыл бұрын
Oh no! I feel like some of my plants hate me too. But I won't let them give up on me. I'm persistent LOL. With the compacta I've noticed, in my early days of owning one, they can very easily be overwatered. I always use a moisture meter on them before I water just to be extra safe. I feel like I have them figured out now as far as when to water. In the past, I'd let them get too dry (out of fear of overwatering), and they would get the wrinkled leaves. I've managed to not have that happen anymore. It's a balancing act for me for sure :).
