I’ll never get people who steal at alleys. Like you’re not these massive companies, you’re working class people like the rest of us. I’ve heard of people getting display keychains stolen too and use a zip tie to lock it into the back. That coupon organizer/ binder is so smart! You can get those at a dollar store too. I always thought of a Fanny pack, but never a thing like that to make change easy. I’m so happy I found your channel you’re so smart and have such wonderful ideas. Thank you for sharing with us 😊

I don't understand either 😅 They assume we have a lot of money but theft does affect us monetarily as well as mentally. Just like working a 9-5 job, this is a job for us as well. I'm glad you liked the idea of using a coupon organizer and fanny pack, it's definitely really helpful in keeping things organized!

@@Mualcaina Came here to say exactly this. What kind of scum of society one has to be to even consider stealing from artists, most of wom struggle to make a living off their artworks? Absolute deplorables.

100000% agree on the foldable cart. If there's anything you should sell your soul for, it is one of those. My wife and I have only done 2 events, and only one WITH the cart and OH MAI GAWD it was SUCH a game changer.
@Mualcaina Жыл бұрын
YES having a cart makes things so much easier, I can't imagine doing an event without it (I did once bc I forgot it and it was AWFUL)

I used a cash box with my first event and was nervous about it the whole time. Switching to a fanny pack for all future events. I love the coupon organizer for keeping bills sorted, such a great idea!

Just found this channel, was trying to learn about making a custom lapel pin for a reception I will be going to, now I find there are other artists who make pins stickers etc for cons...amazing!

Very helpful video. A lot of these items I've already heard recommended or am currently using. It's still nice to hear other artists reiterate these helpful tips for those that don't know.

Yes! Definitely trying to spread the word or at least drill it down that some of these common and popular items are very useful for Artist Alley

I love the look of your branded pin squares! I learned from this video that branding is a must and that's something I can definitely work on. Any recommendations on where I could order ones like yours?

Unsure if square is available in the uk, so for uk people I suggest Zettle! It's the one I use, and it's easy! It's under £45

Loooooooooved this video!! I’ve always wanted to dip my toes into vendoring at Artist Alleys. I was curious on what are your thoughts on asking your favorite artists about offering to volunteer?
@Mualcaina Жыл бұрын
Glad you found it helpful! Are you saying volunteering as a helper? Some artists would be happy to do that, however, since it is a bit of a risk and responsibility in terms of finances, etc, most are often more comfortable if you're a mutual or a friend of another artist so there's some accountability. There are other artists who hire for con help that they usually post listings on social media

Hi Mualcaina! What size storage bins are those if you can recall? The 27L ones? I’m trying to figure out how to maximize the space if you’re able to put two under the table. Thanks for all the great information.

had someone steal an item over night the day before the con even opened to the public so it was either another vendor or security which is a shame.
@Avanity1 Жыл бұрын
My husband and I's first con is in november and your videos help a lot. In terms of theft though, do the cons not let you take your merch back and forth to your car/hotel each night/morning? Because November will be our first this is a big investment for us and we want to eliminate any possible lost.
@Mualcaina Жыл бұрын
You can bring it back and forth from your lodging. It's more so display items that can also be stolen, however there are situations where you have too much stuff that it's not always possible to take everything with you

Honestly the best investment I've ever made for cons is a mini safe box - it locks and it has sections for coins. If i had to pick only one thing besides a tablecloth for my con display it would be this 100%.
