For others playing this deck, if there is nothing but tokens on the field, you can play mastery for its student cost. The opponent can't return the token to their hand.

It’s fun! Though while there’s merit in just slowly sapping away all hope, personally it’s better when they see they’ve almost run you out of cards and start to have hope. And then you play harness the infinite

I played against you with what must have been an earlier version. I was the WR burn mage that decked you a turn before you could kill me. What an epic game. I literally had the concede button clicked but then my 11 year old aspiring magic player son said "can he actually kill you"? Looked at your library, you had around 11 cards and no threats on the table. I was like...well, lets see eh?

I have been playing the original version of this deck since CGB posted it and found the 4 Faithful Mendings were too often dead cards in my hand. I swapped 2 out for 2x Bag of holding which works well. Occasionally the bag gets blown up before you can sac it to get your cards back but more often it turns into big card draw and it turns Mending into a Draw 4 (twice). The fact that Bag turns all discards into delayed draws is a hugely overlooked static ability.

1:26:40 If you target a Hall with Field, it does NOTHING for opponent to activate in response. Ward says, "when it becomes the target of." Since the Hall became the target BEFORE it was activated, you won't have to pay the ward cost. (This has been confirmed on Arena.) Also, I was thinking it might have been a good play to bounce the Meathook with Divide after it resolved but before the trigger resolved. That way, opponent would only get the damage from the Devils and not Meathook. Not sure about that one though.

Azorius control hasn’t been viable for a while and love the new cards to bring it back. So many ways to gain life and dig through the deck effectively. I never have enough time to play to get to Mythic but had fun today blocking a poor Diamond 1 player from progressing with a 38 min game ending finally with my Emerius call angel chipping away the last 4 life. I like the Mordenkainen and will add him to the deck as a great draw engine and win con. Thanks for great content!

Hit the opponent's devious cover up with test of talents early on, and then just let them bleed out. Just played a ridiculously long game that ended in them decking themself even after ultimate-ing Teferi and resolving sea gate restoration. Was able to predict most of their game play thanks to your videos, so THANKS!

Man, everytime I look at azorius control I'm like "yeah, I could craft that deck, it's only a few wildcards away". Then I remember the reason I don't do that, the landbase, and get sad. The landbase often doubles the wildcard requirements for decks in colors I don't play a lot.

I have run into a deck like this on the ladder only once, but i really liked it. I have not seen them cast a mordenkainen, but since it's one of, maybe it just didn't come up. Another nice deck I've run into on the ladder (and would love to see on the channel one day) was green white ramp playing both adversaries. Not sure how consistent it is, but i got rolled and made me try and come up with something similar. It's interesting how the green adversary dodges the mastery (which i expect to be more popular in the near future) and field of ruin already has plenty of work, so it might not even be feasible to stop it that way. Might also go wider than some of the currently popular decks

It hasn’t been mentioned yet so I’m just going to clarify: In game one you still got to shuffle the cards back with the Cover Up because it’s also targeting the cards in the graveyard. All the targets need to be illegal to make a spell or ability “fizzle” and because it’s still targeting the cards in the bin, we resolve as much of the spell as we can.

I just ran this through a standard competition and embarrassed the meta. (Side Note: I noticed the planeswalkers had gone, which I can understand, so I added one copy of Cyclone Summoner and one more Hall, I also swapped out one Mastery for another Doomskar as 3x 6-mana sweepers is a little slow to stop aggro decks) I absolutely just trompsed some of the best decks in the format: Rakdos planewalkser (ok not the best), Mono White, Dimir control (ok, not the best), Izzet Dragons (absolutely embarrassed it), and then... the number one deck in the format: Storm the Festival Selesnya in the final game. In most of these games I found Test of Talents to be the one card that can just demoralise an opponent into giving up. In the above games I was able to hit Blood on the Snow, which took away the reanimating the planeswalker plan; siphon + saw it coming in one turn, which ruined the dimir deck; Alrund's Epiphany; and I hit Storm the Festival. Other things to note: Devastation Mastery ruins the Selesyna deck.. and it's so satisfying. Also, I hated Faithful Mending at first, but I've really come around to it - in this deck it helps keep your life total up and find the cards you need against the different match-ups. I played 7 very different decks and was able to just keep finding answers and getting rid of unwanted cards because of Faithful Mending. Sunset Revelry was great in everything apart from one game (dragons). And then, once you've put a dent in your opponent's game plan, Devious Cover-Up really does just grind your opponent down as you get into the late-game as they watch you keep bringing back the cards that are strong against them. Overall, this deck is a really nice control deck, and really good against the current meta. Adding the Hall and Summoner was just enough to give the deck some win-cons, which we all know CGB neglects ;)

Wow, this is very similar to a deck that I have been playing, only my list is Esper and has 2x Onyx instead of Teferi/Morden, and 3x Meathook Massacre, 4x Sedgemoor Witch and 2x Vanishing Verse instead of the Mending, Mastery and Cover Up. I actually started closer to your list, but added the black in because Massacre is extremely effective at fighting a lot of the current meta decks, and can be bounced by your own Divide by Zero if you really need an extra board wipe. Additionally, Witch and Onyx add incremental value to all of your removal and counters.

I LOVE THIS DECK!! I only lost to fellow Dojo deck of Mono white and a mirror match I played poorly. I want to play Bo3 but I rarely have a full hour to set aside.

Really good video, really sweet deck! Personally I would go to 2x Teferi and 2x Skyclave Relic instead of Mending, so you can abuse the +1 of Teferi in a useful way. Absence seems like a 2-of, cause giving the opponent a card always hurts.

I watched it all, so flawless sensei, apart from that mono white misplay owning all around.
