Little tip: if you click on a province in the development mapmode, the colors change to represent the relative development of that nation rather than the whole world. Might help a little with the shades.

You can force a Client State to take land via the Province you want to give at the Client State button. But they have to border the subject. And you can give them hundreds of overextension, and just help him defeat the rebels.

Awesome. By the way, what's your opinion on Italy, I have done my second ever play through as the Milanese -> Italy,my goal was to restore the Roman Empire, but the disappointment is rather large. I think Italy is a very strong nation and until you beat France and Spain the game is quite interesting, also playing as Republic was something a bit different, but Roman Empire just sucks. I dont get why they made Roman Empire so bad, the disappointment man, I was so hyped :/

Forming Rome allows you to hold Rome as a catholic without penalty. It also has very strong ideas. The ideas are balanced and do not have one particular focus, but are very strong regardless. My overall thoughts is that the Roman tag does not really make sense. It is more of a spiritual Rome if anything. But that is also the HRE in a sense. However i would rather have it in the game then not just for the lols.

I played as Protestant as I wanted to form Italy I would have to make the Papal States hate me anyways. Also I love the Protestant versitility. The main thing that disappointed me was that the Roman culture kinda screws you up rather than not. You give up your main culture and with that all the acceptance of your subcultures, which really sucks imo. I would be happy if it was meant more seriously and not just as some kind of casual thing or achievement goal :/. Also as I was Italy, the Roman ideas seemed weaker to me. But well, what I wanted to elude to, is that "casual" play through as something like Florance into Italy into Roman Empire might also be interesting series. People like Roman Empire. I think.

How big should a client state be? I really have problems with liberty desire above 50 when I just feed them my land. For example I feed my client state whole Anatolia and the liberty desire shoot through the roof

thats because anatolia is very rich in develpment and "subject size" is measured by your subjects total develpmont compared to yours. most of sibir is very poor in development which makes bigger client states there easier to manage. budgetmonk also had all of europe development so client states would rarely go above him in development

There is also a spike in liberty desire at 100 Development and 300 development, so, if you're not insanly hugh already, keep them below these values. Creating a new one is the way to go then.

They seem to convert low dev provinces. Also Humanist gives good religious unity bonuses but they still don't like to have -100% if that makes sense. In other words like seem motivated to convert some land and then stop. Lastly you can use missionaries to convert your subjects land by checking the bottom left box in religious tab. Maybe it is a dlc feature idk.

Tactual - Stay on the emperor's good side. High opinion is key in avoiding the unlawful territory malus. Being an elector especially puts you in a good position because the emperor wants your vote. Combine that with an alliance, royal marriage, etc to keep opinion at or close to 200, and they'll be far less likely to slap you with UT.

In the past you used to gain bonuses for forming Germany which you can gain now by simply having 1000 dev you gain cultural union. I think you keep gov type however Prussia is infact better due to the age bonus in the final age of revolutions. Germany is just for flavor. It is an option to form at the end of the game or not. Also an achievement.
