Actually saw the original scene they shot which was her meeting a new man at the wedding and dancing......it just fell flat and didn’t work at all. This scene just felt like the PERFECT ending - because of course,he was the best character in the movie!

One of the best endings ever for a rom-com, especially because it risked junking the template and bucking expectations AND pulled it off! But it wouldn't have worked without a character as charming and endearing as George. If George weren't gay, then the choice between him and Dermot Mulroney's Michael would have been a total no-brainer.

When I was a teen, I didn't realize how different this movie is from other romcom. And the main character is the villain? Whew. I did expected main character to succeed cancelling the wedding, but now that I'm older, this is the best ending.

it took me a while to think about it. I had a best friend with whom I was platonic. I am gay. She got married and we haven't talked in eons. I have a new life, a new job, and new friends. As much as I adored her, we said goodbye in our own way. It is like the quote: Many friends will come and go throughout your life, but only a precious few will see it to its very end.

Why do I feel like crying feeling this pain as I feel with Julia's character but still smiling because it is truly a magical scene. This movie feels so bittersweet to me, all the nostalgic romantic accumulations of young days and wishful thinking all behind me now.

I studied film production and many times I can guess how some movies end but this one is one of my favorites. I could never guess this end and I just loved. Very creative. Until today when I put a suit I move like the jungle cat. I actually memorized this whole speech ( not the gay part).
