That 5th story had me confused. I felt like I was listening to an amalgamation of Mr. Rogers, Sesame Street, and Teletubbies or something similar. "F told B to Eff off, then C sent A to come and get me, as F had lost his damn mind". I never understood why some folks use letters for folks, as opposed to giving them fictional names. To me, the names just make the story sound so much more fluid, realistic, and just better overall.

Story 4 - The gal got upset because the beaten guy was crying?? She was shocked he was acting like "a girl" because he got... beaten by a fucking bobby stick? For fucks sake. Of course the dude was crying, he was hurt and scared just like she was! Then, to say "Don't put yourself in a bad situation, girls" just burns me up. Absolutely yes, be aware of your situation and surroundings, but to blame herself that way is reeks of internalized misogyny and I hope she understands that the blame lies solely on the nut-job who caused the damage. Something about the story just really got under my skin, oof. How scary and sad for her and the other guy involved.

She made really bad decisions, blamed the men she was with for not helping her, and talked about how much the other men in her life would have helped her. @@Sunshine_Daydream222 , We once lived in a house in which our children (3 of them, then still all 3 pre-schoolers, if memory serves me correctly) loved playing in the big sitting-dining room combined. This room had two doors: one from the front gate, the other, not opposite, but leading to the 'garden' (just a strip of lawn.) The streetwards door would open for a second or two and then close. A few breaths later, the 'garden' door would open, then close. It never bothered our children. They'd look up when the first door opened and say: 'Good morning/afternoon/evening, Uncle Ghost and continue what they were doing. Occasional, one of them would say something like: "Uncle Ghost, will you please help us find the keys?" And, invariably, the keys (or anything else they were looking for) would turn up: on a windowsill, under a table, etc. The doors never opened and closed from garden to street.Our children were never, not for one moment, afraid of Uncle Ghost. My husband and I discussed the matter and thought they might be aware of their guardian angels, so we simply made no fuss. But, sadly, when we moved, Uncle Ghost did not move with us. Perhaps the children no longer needed to be aware of their guardian?

"Morir de susto" or Die from fright. Growing up I've been told that when you're scared down to your soul it can kill you, be it physically or mentally. You cease to eat, sleep, and gradually deteriorate unless you find a healer to 'lift' the fright. Pretty sure Abuelita's prayers kept her from becoming scared to her core. You hear a lot of stories from the ranchos of Mexico.
