Listening to your podcast and other mountain guys has helped me a lot this year. Hunting the Appalachian mountains is no easy task with a bow. I did a ton of scouting in new areas on public land here in md and wv and it has paid off this year. Tagged out in md and have came close in wv so far. Pa is on the list in the next few years.

Good stuff Beau and a great buck! After meeting you and Johnny at the mobile hunters expo I had a fire lit under my ass to finally get a PA mountain buck. After a season of downs I had my chance on the 7th and unfortunately just clipped the hair on his brisket. I now have an even bigger fire to get my redemption, and this was the information and inspiration I needed.

Great story Beau! I was hunting SE NY Nov1st too and those wind gusts were wild. Focusing on PA public land now, hopefully can get a mountain buck down before open rifle season.

What deer hauler is under masons buck? Got one years ago that buckled and would like a new one that is reputable. You guys get a lot of deer so if ya have a recommendation I'll take it

Took a vacation day yday. I've been consumed by ol'hank upper 40s ten I've had on camera 2 years in a row swva. Got in pre daylight climbed 700ft elevation ran into two deer pre daylight 50yds shy of destination so just sat down instead of put my gear on tree. Had little action calling in two does mid morning. Felt silly for not getting to the intended destination as it seems like this is becoming a thing for me! 1030 thought we'll since I'm way up here ima make my own luck slipping across edge of bench were a convenient logging road exist. I took off creepin moist leaves and steady wind kept me sound free or quite enough to feel confident. Boot tongue was nagging at me from the jump and 1115 comes to me laying my nitrofire down fixing the boot problem. Fixed,grab gun look up ol'hank walking a log road that t's into the one I'm on and we were slightly on different slopes so we're hidden from each other until he walked out 5ish steps looks over at me bugged out skin rolling and left the launchpad all in 5 frozen seconds everything I've striped for was there and long gone and I couldn't even make a move toward shooting him!
