Oh Christine, if you got a penny for everytime you made us smile with joyful enthusiasm as we intently watch you work as you lovingly go "about your business" teaching us your trade, YOU would be a Millionaire many times over!!!!! ... I watch your videos not to actually learn, but first and foremost, it is to sit back, rest and enjoy spending my time with you as you share your life, share your ideas, share your sewing skills, tips & tricks and most of all, share your time also with all of us who appreciate you as a person and as our teacher ... YOU are a lovely gift to all of us 💐 🎁 💝

This info is both valuable and interesting. I just Googled 40 AUS to USA$$. Was shocked to learn it’s only $24.75! Wow that’s reasonable for a handmade gorgeous large boxy bag! Congrats on a super year. Thanks for sharing and thanks, too, for your incredible tutorials!

Very informative and interesting! Thank you for putting it all out there. Relying on tourism and the results you have are amazing. Also your comment on the importance of tags and labels….. you’re making me rethink how I prepare things to sell. Thank you!

Congratulations. You had a great year in sales and I am very proud for you. I thoroughly enjoy watching you explain what you do and how you do it and the tutorials you have provided. The quality of your work is excellent and I don't think you need to lower prices. But then again your Market is different from where I live so you would have to make that choice

I love your videos ! I dont sell things but make a lot of gifts and donations for nursing homes and womens shelters. I make your expanded bags but smaller for the ladies at the homes. And I use a strap with Velcro so they can hang them on the side of their walkers or large canes. They love them because they can keep their "stuff" secure in it and its not as large as a walker bag and is zipped so their things dont fall out. Glasses and such. For baby gifts I make your doggy bags but in baby colors and fabrics. I also make a strap that is about 3in wide by 12 in long that has velcro to close . It wraps around a couple diapers and a pkg of wipes. People love them. I give one of the expanding bags and the strap together. Again I make the bag about a third of the size of yours. The other thing Ive noticed is people like odd fabrics for baby items. Like star wars and Anime ! Or mind craft. My daughter makes and sell them .

I appreciate your help and honest approach and it was for the reason I felt I would like to subscribe to your channel and learn more. I do love sewing and selling my products but its not enough to make a living. I often struggle with how to price an item. Once again thank you for sharing your knowledge

I sell most everything I sew. The only thing I don't sell is quilts. I don't have a shop. My daughter sells my items at craft fairs. We learned a lot about which fairs were worth the entry fee, and which aren't worth the time. However, her renaissance faires make a ton of money, but, it's seasonal unless she wants to drive several hundred to a thousand miles away. I've been fixing everyone's clothes. My ex-husband always relies on my sewing skills. This being said, my daughter relies on my sewing for everything from hemming her costumes and clothing, to raiding my inventory for gifts, to selling my items. For fun, I love to make jewelry. You wouldn't believe it, but I use scraps of fabric that I adhere to the back of a cabochon, then put them in bezels, let them cure for about 10 days, add my chain and away they go. My daughter loves telling my secret... but she tells them to look around and they will probably recognize the fabric. It's great, as they buy the matching set. I make them so you can't tell what they were. They look like crystal, not fabric. 😅 My bowl cozies and Amish Star hot pads are my best at craft fairs, bags of any kind for Ren Faires.

I appreciate that you share what sells and what doesn't sell. Do you make much doing KZbin? I'm trying, just getting inventory built to sell small items as well as tote bags and lap quilts. My fabric so far has been all donated to me, but when that runs out ?? Thank you so much Christine, I have learned so much from you.

Whilst I do earn from youtube, I'd love to make enough to do it full time. Hopefully you'll never run out of fabric 😀

Dione, I've just put my rate up from $45hr to $60hr
@Dingle12343 сағат бұрын
So when pricing, do you apply an hourly rate? Can you share that? I think some who state it to be 'personal' are thinking of the tax man, perhaps.

The conundrum of KZbinrs and the like - their lives go from "What am I going to do/make this week", to their life becoming "more about "what are we going to be videoing this week" It is hard to find the balance, and not to make that the focus.
