My Best T-Rex Build! After BoneBreak Rework!

The bonebreak changes feel good for everything except the rex. Solo rex is in a bad state without it. The anky bonebreak change isn't a big hit, and they gave dasp a lot more speed+new abilities to compensate for the loss, but rex was just forgotten. It needs more stam, speed, or both to compensate. Or a grab ability.

Yeah I think if they just allowed for Rex to still be the way it was and could bone break off one bite it would have been fine. But I do like that if you get bone broken you have an immunity to getting bone broken again

I'm a t-rex main because it's my favourite dinosaur and it is in an abysmal place in PoT right now. Rex depends on inflicting instant, but short-lasting bonebreak effects in order to hunt because it desperately needs to keep things in range. If you take that away, the rex has next to no stamina, is slow as molasses and has a good bite that it can never deliver. It's stressful to keep it fed since by and large it can't take advantage of critters. As a special case, rex should always be able to eat carrion, and it should inflict instant but short-lived bonebreak effects. If you're bonebroken by a rex, you can still escape or even win the fight if you're clever. The Fracture to Bonebreak progression works great for other dinos, but as a solo or even duo rex, it makes my favourite dinosaur nearly unplayable on officials. When I'm on other dinosaurs and I see a rex stomping about, I am not afraid. That's a problem!!

Been waiting for this video since the update dropped haha! Shame that the Rex practically can't hunt anything smaller than itself now, but great to hear your thoughts on it. I think it does need a bit of a tweak, maybe not giving it its old bone break back, but just *something* to make it possible to hunt smaller prey.

I think fracture should only exist for weaker attacks and for small-mid tiers that can bone break, apexes and stronger hitting abilities like bone snap should retain bone break.

I’m always an advocate for a Red Herring ability for vanilla Rex (like the one PT Rex has), one similar the new crouch ability Latens got. Rex needs some sort of speed control, now that it’s only way to slow stuff down is effectively useless. Sheesh, Alderon.

Agreed with your statements. Rex needs it’s own changes. Rex is way too slow for this new fracture system. I think they could have shortened the time for long bone break and left it as it was. And added the immunity to both skills. Since the changes I’ve been getting steam rolled on my Rex by mega mixpackers more than before as they know Rex can’t bb anymore. My own idea was the devs can use combat weight to pair with bone break effectiveness. The smaller the dino, the easier to bone break. Low tiers should always be immediately bb, and going up the weight scale, bb can slow them (more than fracture) and cause a type of confusion/daze, slowing them even further.

It’s sad because while the new fracture mechanic works well for the dasp and ano, it just doesn’t work for something as slow as the rex. It wouldn’t even be as bad if the fracture that was inflicted was proportionate to the size of the rex. Just feels strange that the most powerful jaws of any terrestrial animal doesn’t cause that much fracture? This update has just taken away any versatility that the rex had and forces a face tank build, which is just boring. Hopefully the devs either tweak it to inflict more fracture or give the rex a tlc to give it more options. I would even suggest a passive ability for rex to make its footsteps nearly silent. That way it would have a chance to actually ambush smaller targets.

I’m not sure that Facetank actually works. It’s probably bugged. I’ve done rigorous testing and concluded that it takes the same amount of hits to the head/chest to be killed whether you’re running it or not. Have you noticed a difference with or without it ? It would be great if it were working though. Rex needs a TLC desperately! 😔

Diet needs rework. Deinocheirus used to eat plants ad fish, which ACTUALLY WORKED! This dino was an omnivore. I want this diet to be important to the gameplay loop. No more MMO genre. Get rid of the minimap. Add senses. Add game trails. OMG, this game is gonna destroy itself from the inside if the devs do NOT listen to those feedbacks to make the game better.

I wouldn't mind bone break changes as much if they also didn't add a bone break immunity for a whole 60seconds after you have been given it , considering the effort it now takes to inflict a break- I know it stops locking people in place but they either need to reduce that cooldown of immunity OR allow the fracture build up be more for something like the Rex at least.

I agree with you on the BB they should have left the rex alone or lowered the cooldown on crushing bite to like 1 sec. Also I was wondering what your opinion is on running the knockback sub on rex now that all tails do knockback.

I think the knock back sub is helpful a little bit to try and regain your momentum again but I still think there is more benefits from the attack damage sub

I have a T-REX named Buck after Lost World: Jurassic Park. Currently, he's ruling over a small area in the northeastern region of Panjura. He wants to nest in Tyrants Gorge and establish territory. A place rumored to have many species to prey on due to the abundant resources and fights it attracts. Unfortunately, he's also on low hunger and only eat critters and medium dinos. Only his dormancy can help preserve his hunger and thirst, waiting for his TLC and evolve....😢

Rex is basically a walking statue almost everything can outrun a rex so all way to get food is when you attack someone they are willing to fight to the end so they can give rex a speed boost a fracture that slows your enemy about 10 to 20% and improve turn speed to keep up with all the other dinos Rex now has a big bullseye on its back

Cmon Alderon, I mean... We're talking about the t rex, the animal that had the strongest jaws of any land animal to exist. 🙄 I feel like it should have a bite where every bite you get, it causes small or medium fracture, with a 1 sec cooldown. Or just have the rex cause like an immediate 5 second bone break! You just need enough to get the stomp off. And yes I feel like a red herring ability would be nice to have. In fact have the apex's do immediate bone break, or at least high fracture. And have the mediums do medium to small fracture. Either way rex needs its bone break back!😠

I also use this build, but like I said in the previous vid, you can only kill other apexes and all those dlc marine animals that are crawling on land and trying to get to the river in great plains (it's my usual hunting spot). I tried switching to the PT version since it has some more options, but unfortunately the lack of stomp makes it very vulnerable to raptors (right after killing an Acro and 2 kentros I got killed by a little raptor, a laten I'm guessing, all because pt version doesn't have a stomp, otherwise I could have killed it after shaking it off, and I think the pt version's tail attack doesn't cause knockback yet, maybe it's glitched).

@ambush501st Yeah, they said on their discord that they updated the tails for the update, but it didn't seem to work. I'm not surprised at this point though. Last time they updated their Rex with new abilities, there was a glitch that caused to drain its stamina super fast when sprinting which made the character unplayable and it took them a freaking month to fix it, they also forgot to add the anti pounce hide, even though the notes said they added it. Hopefully, the official Rex gets a TLC soon, or maybe that new T.rex mod by the other team, forgot which one, will be more viable.

I agree with everything you said. To be honest, its not an option, its facts what your saying. Rex is in a terrible spot now. Only people that will say the rex is fine are the soy boys that have always hated on the rex from the beginning. I understand balance but the rex has one of the strongest bites off all time. Most developed apex from prehistoric times. Devs at POT have no love for this dino and it shows. Whats with the knockback sub species as well. Why not armor. Makes me wonder if the devs actually play the dino real time in public servers, or do they just do private tests and just circle jerk. The decisions they make worry me sometimes

Well on official servers it's tricky because people mixpack and team heavy, buy offensively speaking you want to try and cut off your opponent and try and lead them into bottle necks so you can get the hit, defensively speaking you want to make it hard for your opponent to get behind you and always face them.

To be honest it's really hard to get a fair fight with a Rex, you best bet is to find and track down a solo Rex then try signal to him that you want to fight. You can do this by typing or aggressive roaring at him or bite the air in his direction

I hate the new bone break and feel like they ruined Rex's ambush playstyle and also messed up my favorite dasp build with charge bite and heavy bite lol Rex is the apex titan? But to me he's just an easy target to bully which is sad to say.. I've beaten so many rex players with low tiers like Lat Dein Struthi Campto bait the stomp free hits.. I think fracture should be instant with rex and he needs similar speed buffs like PT's red herring or some better maneuvering for a burst dps attack. I feel like he needs TLC and dasp didn't need it and also balancing the game around low tiers and unpopular herbivores seems strange to me when the apex seems so weak to me now.. at least give apexes like rex and spoon more tail damage Btw.. spoon needs work too... i miss the charge bite.. and rn they basically took away the Rex's charge too low-key.. kinda lame xP Apexes need to feel like apexes again 😂 This is the same situation with Jynn's video about solo play on achillo this is the same for rex players.. alienate the playstyle to force you to use face tank builds instead.
