Nice video! I'd love to see these fossils prepped? Sometimes visit Cornelian Bay for the agates - I don't collect fossils as such, but still absolutely love fossil hunting and Cayton Bay nearby always so tempting, with those cliffs going off into the distance. Been there once, not on the right tide sadly, but still got a few nice ammonites in those hard grey nodules with the little pits in. They seem quite common and cut and polish super. Occasionally happen upon some nice fossils washed out of the till in Cornelian Bay too, but no proper equipment or skill to prep aside from cutting and polishing and some are just too nice for that kind of treatment. (okay I have hammers and chisels and even the dremel engraver but hammers = disaster and engraver doesn't do much except make my fingers go numb; it seems that the typical Yorkshire matrixes are a little bit too tough for anything but an air scribe?)

What a cool variety of finds! I thought the weathered coral was especially neat, never seen one in that condition before. Of course I laughed that you couldn't resist getting some of the bottles, but really, who could?! 😁

Great to see your finds! Is it just super glue you use to stick a belemnite back together? I've got one to repair from whitby
@TheYorkshireFossilHunter2 жыл бұрын

I go there surfing alot, never been fossiling there though! I bet it was horrible going up that slope with them fossils, it’s bad enough with a wet suit full of water and a board 😂
