Awesome mallet, I purchased the plans for Christmas presents. I don’t have any access to live wood, what thickness is the piece? I plan to present it as a meat tenderizer, is there any othe finish that would be more suitable or is the linseed oil ok?

Thank you for the support! The wood I used was 1" thick, and definitely doesn't need to be made with a live edge piece, this was just the offcut I had to use. For food contact, I would use mineral oil as the finish instead of linseed oil.
