Aloha, how many sheet of plywood did you use for the 2' x 8' bench.
@justcruisin1093 жыл бұрын
That was really interesting- I think the design process itself would be interesting too. Thanks
@Ding_Bat3 жыл бұрын
Yeah, it more than likely was. People say CNC is cheating, but they don’t consider the time and effort to design something and getting it dialed in perfectly in a virtual environment. But, man, when that design is dialed in, it’s an absolute pleasure to turn virtual into physical.

Glad you liked it! The design process took several days to do, it would end up being a huge video as I'm working through hours and hours of designing. Any tips for how you'd like to see that kind of information in a more concise manner?
@ToolsToday3 жыл бұрын
You are absolutely right! The design process, especially for something as complicated as this, is a lot of work, but seeing it all come together makes it absolutely worth it!

I have an Avid CNC with a 48” x 48” bed. Would it be possible to design this in 2 sections then I could add an additional top layer over the plywood to tie them together. I also prefer casters on the ends that can be “toggled” up out of the way when stationary

Yes, you can take the design, edit it and break it up however you'd like

I know this video is a bit older now, but just in case you haven't changed it yet: The screetching noise your machine is making from 1:37 onwards indicates that your feed is too low (or rpm too high).

Can you please advise if this can be made on my CNC. I have a 1300mm wide by 1500 mm Long Table. Also is it possible to make the Work Bench only 1500mm long Thank You. Looking forward to your reply.
@ToolsToday3 жыл бұрын
The plans are meant to have the workbench be roughly 96in long, but you could certainly modify the design to make it whatever length you want it to be, but the files are made assuming the bench is going to be full size.
