I consider cardigans the patron garment of the obese and frumpy. However recommend a few combos to try to make the carcoal dissh one work since it has potential: 1. Push the sleeves up to your elbows. Unbutton two buttons from both the top and a bottom. 2. If you have any flared pants, fitted in the hip and thigh, pair it with those. Bonus if you have platform boots or converse. Could also work with straight leg leather pants, leather pencil skirt, and a leather boot. 3. If that doesn't alter the vibe enough add a non-metal bracelet in a black or dark brown with a thickness of a half inch or wider. Should fix the "too proper" vibe.
