It DOES get better when you chop but you want to be comfortable with the length before you chop. You have to be VERY patient, hence the word "transitioning". I transitioned for 21 months. Months 5 -10 were an absolute nightmare! A wash day literally used to take me 5-8 hours!! Mostly detangling, OMG!! The whole transitioning process is very difficult but as your natural hair gains length and you find products that work with your hair, it gets a little easier. I promise you its TOTALLY WORTH all the headache. My hair is so BEAUTIFUL (not bragging, just thankful and appreciative of what God gave me). I'm so proud of it and I'm constantly getting compliments. Don't give up Sista, you'll be so happy and glad you endured in the end♡

I’m transitioning back to natural I just decided when the month of October began. I was natural for 4 years and then relaxed when I was going through a tough period in my life dealing with my brothers death and I just couldn’t be bothered with my hair. My hair grows super fast so I’ll most likely big chop next October.

That because that is usually what a big chop is but everything is getting confusing now with terms. A big chop is when you stop getting a relaxer, wait for some new growth and then chop off all the straight bits. What she did in the video was transition to natural and then trim off the straight ends. I've done both (gone natural then relaxed now natural again) and I prefer transitioning because I felt bald when I big chop.

What is the reasoning behind a 'big chop' would it be bad to leave the non curly bits at the end and continue to let your hair grow ? Loves from England
@Nikki5289 жыл бұрын
+Amy Kilbride eventually one has to get rid of straight relaxed ends of their hair, so that they can have completely natural hair instead of holding on to the chemically straightened ends.

Nice job! I am 4 months post relaxer and plan never to relax again. I’m so so excited and looking ahead to all that I will experience on my natural hair journey. My hair is past shoulder length now. I believe it’s 4ABC. I’m going to check out ur journey as I too do not plan to do a big chop anytime soon.
