Thought this was such a charming movie! I didn't enjoy the trailer that much so I was nervous that it wouldn't be good, but it really felt like I was seeing old friends and participating in a family reunion. The fact that the actors aged in real life gave it that feel as opposed to a sequel that was released immediately afterwards. I loved that they referenced jokes like the bundt cake joke with the mini bundts with flowers in the center that you can spot in the Dancing Zorba restaurant. They didn't rely on the old jokes to make the movie, though, which was nice. I would definitely see this again! It didn't have the magical spark of the first movie but was a really nice, lighthearted comedy.

There's only one thing that makes a sequel not suck. That would be the source material already being part of a series or volume of work requiring multiple movies to tell the story.

Wow... the years have not been kind to poor John Corbett. I was 13/14 when the first one came out, and he was on Sex & The City at the time so about 75% of the girls I knew wouldn't shut up about him. They don't talk about him any more.

Claudia G Oh I agree that there was nothing particularly interesting about him, but I guess he was blandly handsome in that corn-fed "aw shucks" country boy sort of way (not that a straight guy's opinion on this means much, of course). Anyway, it wasn't John Corbett that my girl friends were into, it was his character from SATC. I heard the name "Aidan" so much back then that it's seared in my brain. Ugh.

Did we really need to explore this concept from this perspective again? The first movie basically milked the joke dry by the end of its running time. I'm not really surprised this one is a complete turkey.

Well, it's called my big fat greek wedding and its part 2... so there had to be a wedding based on the title of this movie. Makes sense to me. It's not a turkey. It made 90 million dollars at the box office on an 18 million dollar budget.
