Things didn't go exactly to plan in this one as I get caught out by something unexpected. My job was to upgrade the heating pipework from 10mm, to 15mm, but I get caught as the system was feeding from both ways. Plumbing is always full of surprises

Tom you have just made my day because I am self taught and I have just replaced 4 radiators in my own house using copper and I watched other youtubers who make pipework look so glamorous which in reality it is not. Ripping up floors kneeling on sharp objects and following the rules of wire wooling the pipe ends and fittings, using flux and yet I got a leak on the second radiator I fitted and yes I didn't apply enough heat and my daughters bedroom almost became a wet room but I kept my calm after watching your video and it took me 10 minutes to sort the problem out.. so thank you for proving it's not a glamorous job it's bloody hard graft.. keep up the excellent work..

Great video Tom you did really well to correct it and also to get it working correctly. Plumbing can test your resilience at times and it’s not a nice feeling when things go wrong and you can’t think straight at all. You feel like running away screaming and at that stage your only priority is to fix it, getting paid is the last thing on your mind in fact you would nearly pay the customer to get out of it but you soldier on and when you finally get over the other side of that hill the relief is just amazing and you feel like doing a dance and singing in jubilation, very well done Tom.

Hi Tom, another great educational film thank you Tom, every plumber I have ever known in the past 50 years can tell you a story about a flood or leak they have had on a job. It happens to us all and yes that’s me included, I’ve cut into a live pipe 💦more than once over the years (not recommended) what a mess I made. Have a great weekend and as always, take care. 👍👍👍

As a plumber the stupidest mistake I ever made was turning off a 22mm cold main at a ball valve then proceeded to cut the wrong side of the valve. Absolutely ridiculous, I know. My only partial excuse was that I had two school caretakers standing behind me, chatting away to me and watching my every move and I hate working like that. Still absolutely the most idiotic thing I ever did in the job.
