I love this channel. I was raised on a farm in southern Alberta and my mom always grew a huge garden as there were 8 of us. This is what we need to live like is getting back to basics as we all are prejudice and very disrespectful. It is hard work. We had 1500 chicken/roosters, 70 milking cows, pigs and grain farming. It was hard work but very rewarding. Keep up the awesome job.

the girls need to sit in the sun 20 minutes a day when sick it really is the best medicine, there was a boy who had cancer and got a really bad lung infection that destroyed one lung and then started on the next one, so they put him on end of life care and they asked him what he wanted to do ands he said go outside, so the hospital took him out side and did light therapy and he got better to the point where he could start chemo again :)the sun works wonders.

🧄 I remember planting garlic very late (for Wisconsin) one fall and the weather was unusually cold. The ground was completely frozen by the first week of November. We were chopping the soil with an ax to get below the frozen soil. And of course the 400 cloves was heavily mulched. We didn’t think the garlic would survive and grow once spring arrived. It did come up and continued to grow and a fine harvest in the middle of July was a success. The cloves had grown and formed huge bulbs. We were amazed and thankful. So, I think your garlic will have no problem successfully growing. Love your channel!

let your chickens do the clean up over the winter. keeps them from getting bored. just get the strings and other stuff out. You could fence an area at the end of the greenhouse so the chickens cant get to it-leave the table in, keep the hens out-win-win. Come spring you'll have that wonderful soil!
@jasonhatfield47472 күн бұрын
My chickens are in the hoop house now too! They love it in there for the entire winter. I put down 18" or more of wood chips and it turns into a giant compost pile helping to keep them warm and comfortable during the coldest weeks. Then in the spring after they move out, it can be piled up and allowed to turn into compost for the garden in future years. It's the same system Joel Salatin uses for his chickens and rabbits.

Man I feel you on the Garlic. I did mine on Saturday the 7th. I usually shoot for the first week of October. I have saved extra bulbs each year increasing my number I can plant in anticipation of getting some acreage and I finally got 15 acres this year but ran out of time. Fingers crossed it will grow, or the last three years will have been a waste increasing what I planted. I put in over 600 cloves and will just have to keep the faith.

Bermuda grass is a nightmare but it can be removed with laborious pulling when the soil is saturated. Every single root must be removed. I know because I have done it. Taking out the majority in a week or so and following up with the emergence of new spots. Saturate the soil and work it out. Very doable! Rototilling it just makes more because it breaks the roots into MORE grass unless you sift the bits out as you go.

I understood you're supposed to plant garlic 4 inches underneath the ground then cover it with either straw I use maple leaves I haven't planted my garlic yet either it's a lot colder here than is there so just means it's going to come up later that's all Replanted my garlic Last year I planted my garlic in the top of the ground was frozen hasn't frozen yet this year got a couple frosts but that's it I'm still growing beets and turn ups and potatoes and mchale my kale still grown good some of it gets a little damage but chickens are loving him I think I might love my chicken in the garden you know they're in the other gardens just not in the raised bed garden

I think a better use of the electric fencing would be to run it around the inside of the greenhouse to protect the plastic. 😅They will definitely peck the plastic and possibly ingest some by accident. Better to keep them away from it in the first place.

Moving chickens and cleaning out the greenhouse. Yep. Tree stumps into barn- not good. Those drain hoses should help with the water flow if they don't come out.
