Definitely attach the crampons to your boots! Especially with the ankle injury this fall, you are more likely to have stability issues this winter. Take care of yourself, so that you can take care of all of your animals.

Exactly it can take a year or even two for an injured ankle to fully heal and stabilize. I know that because I have been there.

❤❤❤ Morgan, you and Allison stay warm, dry, and safe this winter. We all love watching you and your farm. Be easy on Alfred if he doesn't finish the project before the worst of the weather sets in and he cannot run his heavy equipment. Stay warm and safe everyone ❤

Maybe now that the boys have more room they’ll be less fighting. Do the goats go into their shed at night? Are you going to wrap the bottom sections with tarp where the fence is exposed to wind? That would help if you’re trying to protect and give your herd a break from the elements.

If you have enough fencing maybe try an airlock type approach? Get the 2 young ones inside it before opening the main fence to the herd.

From what i understand of dopamine its better to start with a small task, the dopamine hit from completing it makes you want more and seek out other challenges to conquer. So there is a sort of momentum as the dopamine hits get bigger.

On average, about 22 people are killed by cows in the United States each year. In the United Kingdom, the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) reports that four to five people are killed in accidents involving cattle each year.

With the temperature being cold enough to freeze water , why dump the old water and bath water near where you to walk? Wouldn't dumping it around the fence line be better?

I like the idea of an occasional feature of introduction to one of the animals (not only the chickens). You could give far more detail and history than we get in your usual vids? In the last couple of videos I've found myself wondering if you ever regret getting cattle with killer horns? Once you've got the Charolais used to you, you'll realise how much easier cows without horns are!

Cows are pretty hardy animals. As noted, they probably won’t use the barn much, so a wind screen would be better if you’re gonna do something.

Our barn yard, although tidier and generally more organized than yours 😆(last video I watched) 👍😆... Could and would always be a muddy mess, between the cattle yard, the chicken run, the pig run, the open path to our pasture and around the barn lot within the first 18 months we brought in tons of chipped stone, placed above grade and that made the world better, ( you gotta know how to care for it around the seasons to Best maintain it)... along with drilling an alternative well on hand pump, ( but easily motorized) if you want to spend the money, and actually plumbing under the freeze line, our farm was your latitude and longitude northern great lakes. It's not all bad news, your animal instinct is on point, you care a lot, but you know that they can easily kill you, nothing wrong with that 👍 seal up your old hay barn, it's time!! 😆👍

I don't know cows good enough or cattle dogs (but I know horses and other breeds of dogs). From that experience I am asking myself if your dogs would be of help in your cattle drive. Horses with dogs are a completely different thing, especially herding dogs are a problem.
