Tej, I have seen almost all dragon den episodes and you are the practical investor I found. The best about you is that you treat all who walks in with great respect and evaluate then apply. On the episode of Wong from nimble it's was a great decision and it will go a long way because of Wongs patience and growth plan is so real. But with the episode of Andrew water tap and reusable water bottles you missed I feel. Concept can be huge success. It's been proven and thinking about Dubai people prefer on reusable concept.

Hi Tej, thanks for the video, great to hear about your regrets in business investments. I own a recruitment business and sold 51% and it was taken over by a board with no clue about how we wanted to scale or what our vision was. Even though they had experience in the same sector!! After a terrible 7 months I’m 100% shareholding again and ready to roll with a brand new team. We all make mistakes in business, but these experiences usually help us become better entrepreneurs for future negotiations and opportunities.

I'm in a position whereby I could regret a decision in the near future. I run an IT company but only have 40% shares as the company operates from a group of companies. My parents on the other hand have a successful panel beating shop and want me to open up a company and trade under them to eventually take over the panel shop. I'm pretty lost with the choice I have to make but I have decided to do the best I can each day regardless. I wish i had a button to push which would be the right decision.

@@matthewantonio2654 I would say in my limited experience, being my own boss and calling my own shots is the best part of work. If you take over the family shop you will eventually be your own boss. Even if profits are lower at least you can do things your own way and without the headache and aggravation of dealing with others. The downside is if your family is nuts or doing business with family can be sticky, but at least its temporary and one day you'll take over. Just make sure you get a firm contract so your parents dont screw you over down the line like my friend whose parents promised him the law firm and then retained majority share and retired.

Tej you are always tactical and strategical and always partner with businesses you have expertise and knowledge in, and that's what makes you special. Due to pandemic situation my businesses had run out of steam .. real estate its devastating..and with tourism down i predict and that it will be down for another good 2 years (Here in Sri Lanka) as of now i started diversifying my business into more intermediary service position on construction (sort of creating a hub for very good small and medium scale contractors on a web platform). Demography of my country between the ages of 35-70 the contractors, sub contractors, builders, repairman are not tech savy, there business relies on recommendation and word of mouth i am now in progress of making web platform to my business which enable to have most medium scale contractors on a digital foot print and we can advertise there services in coded system on web/social media. and of coz while doing that to generate funds and not eat up my capital reserves i started to teach students about business management(under graduates), a very crowded market place with big tutors across the country who are conducting large lectures for 1000 or more students per class.(its a shark tank), but due to the covid crisis gov regularized and set a limit for 100 students, and now online classes are emerging and soon it will be popular in sri lanka(where we have telecommunication infrastructure spread across the island). but all south asian teachers are doing the same thing talking to screen and writing on white boards explaining in a lethargic manner , but i make it more exciting with a you tubers twist.. (but that aint the business). so i put a team of teachers and in a particular stream covers all the subjects and we move as a team to group classes , but basically now we are focusing on app based and online tuition(for a country with more young people tech savy, this industry remained very conventional for so long). All of us can do both mediums (native language and also English) and thought of making it as a channel which opens all corridors with a unique blend. Do we have a USP - yes for now Do we have the advantage for long- of coz not But some body got to start, Now i have hands full on these two projects i need both of them to work, but to create handle both businesses i need more than 24 hours.. hardly sleeps..and could not sometimes afford to have staff because if it didnt work out, as expected, im in danger of running out of cash. NOW MY MILLION DOLLAR QUESTION IS My question for you is how do you handle two very time consuming businesses in the beginning, any tips which might help to handle it more efficiently (than typical google calenders) i dnt know you are ever going to reply this comment or consider this question amusing, but what the hell its social media, every success i had until easter bombings and covid is from this.. so i am not afraid to reach the cosmos and ask for guidance. businessclazal@gmail.com.

Hey Tej, I am an 18 year old economics student and aspiring investment banker from the UK. My only real regret so far is not risking my real capital, in this year's ifs student investor challenge I made 21% during the Brexit period by backing a prolonged trade deal - choosing firms whose value would increase with uncertainty. Coming top 15 in the investment round out of 3000+ people was rewarding but it would be nice to have something to show from it! Keep the tips coming, I'm always looking to learn.

My biggest regret dates back to about 10 years ago, there are special type restaurants in iran that they serve liver kebab and it is very popular among the people. It is not a luxury food, so you can't find them that much in the richer districts of the city, which in my view it was nonsense since it is a popular food among all classes of people inculidng the rich people. my brother and I started to discuss about having one of those restaurants in the rich part of the city, that we would make lots of money, but we didn't make it happen, because honestly we didn't take ourselves serious, after 2 or 3 years, somebody did it and now he has a great business and making lots of money out of it. It was also a lesson for me that if you find a gap in the market or a creative idea, do not hesitate and make it happen.
