Richard Farleigh without a doubt was one of the best dragons ever. I'd love to have someone like him as an investor. He doesn't just tag along like Theo and Deborah and has an almost James Bond flair. Why they got rid of him is bonkers
@TraXXXtar

agreed. very underrated dragon. nobody has ever tried to pull what peter did ever again and it was brave that richard spoke up like that, especially against the biggest baddest dragon, while also kind of making light of it with the quick disclaimer. unfortunately it looked like peter got kinda frustrated, and i dont imagine he'd be pulling those expressions before that happened so i cant assume the editors are trying to push fake drama. i really hope this isnt what got richard dropped from the show. im sure after so long, even peter would've regret trying this now

yeah i would argue these are the 5 best dragons of all time. richards my 3rd fave but i'd understand if people have him 5th overall behind the other 4 here. of course if him leaving to pave the way for other great dragons like touka, tej, jenny and nick jenkins, then i'm all for it. he had such a great enough impact in just 2 seasons to the point where i'd argue nobody comes close to having that level of an impact in such a short time. so mathematically he'd have the best impact over time (impact divided by time), whatever that function/expression would be, i dunno lol

Richard Farley (or Fairley?) made an excellent point: people who calculate the value of a business don't have to pay that amount of money - they have no 'skin in the game'. Most of the entrepreneurs come into the dragons' den with high valuations based on their own belief in or passion for the project. When they state sales or profit numbers, it's clear that the valuation is a dream or an ambition for the future. Just like estate agents valuing houses - they don't have to buy the houses!

This was actually one of the most blatant attempts of the Dragons trying to straight up scam a business. Deborah going out because of some ridiculous caveat of hers that makes little to no sense, Duncan just says "you don't need my money" when they told them exactly why and how they'd use it. Of course, Peter and Theo jump on it as the 'last resort option' asking for insane amounts of control over a 15% shareholder position each, while severely undervaluing their company at 700k (Peter even offering them 1.5mil for a buyout right after the show) is just the cherry on top. Big props to Richard calling them out on their bullshit. Really glad the girls didn't get baited into accepting it. Nowadays Tej would probably also just bail on some imaginary non-issue, so theyd be completely pressured by malicious bids. Big reason why the old clips are 100x better than the new ones.

Deborah (NOT Debbie) is spot on. To large a field to trust anyone with your children. Child abuse and paedophilia Is epidemic. I’d NEVER trust a soul I didn’t know around my children. I know you the outcome well! I’m afraid we live in a world where most people are bad, even evil!

Okay, they have a successfully run yoga business, but honestly, its scope is not global and ultimately neither would its valuation be in billions. Sure, the girls built their dream which takes massive guts and sacrifice, but eventually, to go big, you've got to share a pie with somebody who can take you to the next level. Plus, I'm totally annoyed with the way they tried to negotiate. Who on Earth asks about the other party's "mood" to negotiate. You simply put a counter-offer, and the negotiation begins - sometimes with an outright rejection and sometimes with a subsequent offer to the counter-offer. They might be great entrepreneurs, but, as we so often see, with a terrible understanding of finance and money. It's a shame! They will live to regret it, I guess.

Whether they're rowing on a boat , whether they're flying mystical birds or even riding the ocean waves and even if their children are the heroes, it doesn't matter they'll never be heroic enough to get Jenny to invest, she will constantly be out and they'll need to go on these adventures to probably find her and stop Peter wanting their granny's house and their husband's second cousin's business.

Could be that Richard was obstinate about his offer because there were no other offers on the table at the time. The ladies should have first negotiated the deal with him before walking away from Peter and Theo's. It's always best to leave the dragon feeling he or she has got competition.
