One of the few slashers where the killer is far more likable and sympathetic than everyone he pickaxes and (especially) those that survive to never see a sequel.

The Valentines Day episode of Supernatural, which is also called "My Bloody Valentine" is pretty entertaining and starts with a couple eating each other. Literally. But it does end heavy and is tied to the over arch.

I actually prefer this version. I think it uses its runtime a lot better, and the gore effects are on point. Plus seeing Dean acting all crazy is a huge bonus.

The original’s 1st cut, which includes the 15min of forced MPAA cuts, is a lot better than its theatrical version. It feels like a modern gory slasher, and not the neutered “Die Hard on TV” cut.

Hey, Cinema Snob if you go to Thomas Negovan's KZbin you can see the results of his 3 year quest to restore Caligula (1980) to its original state at three hours and without any of the original footage. It was constructed from the original camera neg running at about 91 hours of footage.

My Bloody Valentine 3D turns 15! Still one of my favorite horror remakes and one of the best films of 2009 Made $100 million worldwide on a $15 million budget Patrick Lussier of the 'Scream' movies and 'Dracula 2000' directs again remaking the 1981 slasher I absolutely love the gore and the kills The 3D is utilized effectively throughout too; keep in mind it was the first R-rated horror film restarted the trend thanks in part to Avatar opening a few months later Most of the time now 3D is just used as a cheap gimmick for money-making and resulting in terrible post-conversion, if used sparingly though it allows the audience to immerse themselves enhancing the terror by squirming but also reveling in the carnage I do appreciate that composer Marco Beltrami did the score per usual There's terrific character actors in here in horror from Tom Atkins to Kerr Smith to Jensen Ackles to Jaime King King makes for a terrific final girl/scream queen too and the twist near the end caught me off guard And we can't forget the traditional horror tropes this movie checks off were so used to although it did revive many classic horror traditions The original movie played it a bit safe and being heavily edited down later gaining a cult following This is still a damn good remake with lots of nudity and gore and big laughs to spare adding to its own schlocky ness It's entertaining, fast-paced, and keeps its status with an iconic slasher so it doesn't deserve to be overlooked because it's one of the better remakes for once

What kills me when watching (and working in these remakes) is that the killer here for example was a lot taller than either of the two in the end, which makes no sense how the killer suddenly goes from 6'4" to 6'. I remember asking the director I worked with on The Unholy that very question as a general question over lunch and he responded the audience don't see details like that, nor care enough to complain. I politely disagreed with him as many do in fact spot those inconsistencies out a lot in movies. Cary Elwes agreed with me though when we did a few takes in the scene by the tree in the church where I was sweeping around the pedestal. (I did a few other roles, one speaking) He's a great guy, and very funny. I also worked with both Jared and Jensen in the last episode of Supernatural which was done in Rhode Island. That was a great time and got to play in the car and check under the hood! I have the picture of us three on set in my game room with the other pictures of others I've worked with over the years, including The Fonz in Here Comes the Boom when I played a role of one of the fighters in the octagon and meeting him was just awesome. Such a nice, nice guy and loves fly fishing!
