I have been looking, for the first time at different peoples BOS or Grimoire---as I have chosen to create a more permanent Grimore, while keeping my BOS journals as I practice. I plan to create with a 3-ring binder (3 1/2 inches that I created) with parchment paper. A three-ring binder will allow me to a variety of create sections on various subject matters and to move things around easily and add pages as I wish. I plan to handwrite and draw everything myself to imbue it with my own energy. But having just now seen the perfect handwriting and artwork of your sacred book I feel a bit overwhelmed---but in a good way. Your will inspire to genuinely take my time and create this permanent Sacred book that I will turn to for all that is best and accurate information from what I have learned through my practice of over 20 years---in order to Craft. Your book is both a stunning piece of artistry and clearly very special and sacred to you. What an absolute artist, with such elegant and lovely hand-writing! Wow. Brava! Gia

Wow, what a piece of art. Your illuminated letter (I believe they were called that) on the second page, I just love that. All your art, and your writing too, is so meticulous and beautiful and done with so much care. You've really raised the bar for me. I haven't started a grimoire yet. I'm still new to it all and gathering information in a cheap notebook. Once I have a good amount of the basics, I want to revisit each topic and see if I can find some more information to add, then I'll figure out how I want to arrange it and then I'll transfer it to my nice leather book. Mine is a lot smaller in size than yours is though. It's about 5x7 inches or ca 12.5 x 17.5 cm, quite compact but for now I prefer the more compact size. I was mainly drawn to it for the embossing on the leather and also the way the closure is made. It's got a flap that tucks in under the front cover and protects the edges of the paper on that side and a string, vs the many I saw with clasps, that are definitely beautiful, but my thought behind it was that I know I will likely glue certain things into my book, increasing it's thickness, rendering the clasp useless, whereas the leather rope is much more flexible. Of course within limits but it will give me more room to work with than the clasp closure for sure. The paper in mine is recycled from what I can tell, while some people would probably dislike the extreme irregularity of it with blobs on the pages, I actually like that. I'll definitely be adding this video to my playlist for inspiration on page layout, your book is drool-worthy 😆

I'm a Christian, but I love magic and some of the practices, beliefs, and traditions of Paganism. I'm looking into starting my own book, though I will call it a Book of Knowledge instead of a BoS. I hate that Christians and Witches are stereotyped to hate each other. Many of our beliefs overlap and, even though I am a Christian, I strongly believe in the benefits of potions, oils, charged crystals and having familiars, etc. Your book is so beautiful and you are so talented. Keep up the good work. God bless/blessed be. :D

beautiful, like the section of Vodou, but as a Papa Boko and Sancista, include in your book that the veve depends on lineage and is coded especifially for the child of a Lwa. meaning that a veve or Firma as we would call it would not work for an individual for whom that veve was coded to. Yes all the Nations are very confusing and hard to grasp.. well done again, enjoy the book brother. again the masterpiece if that medulla de san bededito. well done.

Hi Herbal badger ! Thanks for the positive comments! There's a plethora of info on the web about Voodoo, but you need to concentrate on one area specifically to get a foothold. On Voodoo; Have you ever seen the film "The Serpent And the Rainbow"? A very well made horror film shot on location in Haiti and loosely based on Anthropologist Wade Davies' experience uncovering an actual medicinal compound used to transform real people into zombies. I also recommend reading the book of the same title if you want an anthropologists objective, scientific observations on Voudoun (voodoo).

I love your grimoire. May I ask what kind of magic you practice? I myself am eclectic. And this is honestly one of the best grimoires I've ever seen. what do you use to write and colour everything? and how do you draw so perfectly???
@brandt196998 жыл бұрын
Phoenix Starfyre thanks for the kind comments! Yes I would say eclectic too. I try to take on board and study as many different systems that make sense to me while being always faith grounded so, yes definitely eclectic. Never really thought of it before , so thanks for the question ! I use whatever's at hand, mainly coloured pencils and those felt tip pens with 'brush like' ends. I've even stained colour with tea bags in this book so, ha ha, I guess the correct answer would be anything I can get my hands on ! Many thanks 😊
