Newer games (which even included KoF98UM) require a bit more work which SNK themselves would need to provide some support for.

@@MrLachapell To expand on what Zadamanim said: japanese devs refuse to implement rollback netcode in their games because: 1- It wasn't invented in Japan (there's a whole stigma named after this reason & it goes beyond just the netcode) 2- They find it redundant (yeah sure, japanese players don't need it because of urban proximity, but would it hurt them to think about the rest of the world for a second?) 3- If you ask them directly, they respond like you're asking them to divide by zero. Max made a video about it called... Surprise, "Not invented here". It'll tell you all you need to know about the issue.

Im playing a lot of Garou since they updated with the rollback netcode, and I'm doing good with my boy Rock. Thing is, the other day I played a dude that completely wrecked me. He just defended pretty much everything and I was surprised. I lost over 20 matches in a row, and was happy I ended up winning 3 single rounds. Dude was a total monster, and even tho he won every match, I didnt give it easy to him, and I felt like he was also enjoying the matches. Over 20 years later and this game still feels great.

Oh, also you can break rock's command grab so you can follow up for more damage. Breaks are specific special moves that can be cancelled after the first hit, so you can usually follow up. (Press 6ab imediately after a break move)

This is the best and most fluid animation in a 2d game period. Don't @me with Third Strike, the animation there is good but backgrounds are lazy, unlike SNK that went all out with their animation of all characters and stages. I could pleasure myself on the level of fluidity on display in Garou.

It's best to set the meter 1 or 2 blocks down (to the left) from what the actual ping is. That's what i always do and it feels very good. Code Mystics has also a video on their fb that explains the netcode and what the best settings are.

Bueno yo llevo unos tres años jugando los títulos pero cuando mis compañeros de programación jugando el kof 2002 y más el lanzamiento de Terry volvió mi gusto Alos de luchas nunca tuve juegos de lucha la mayoría eran shooter o juegos de planta formas pero gracias a emuladores pude jugar la mayoría de los juegos de snk y los de peleas como la saga guilty gear y la mayoría de los juegos de Arc sistem work gracias a Dragon Ball fighterz y los BlazBlue bueno la mayoria de juegos que tengo en los emuladores son de peleas

I wish Max one day play against the best players I've seen in fightcade: Spelunker (Jap), TWolf78 (USA), Dui (USA), Morkman (Argentina), Crooked (Argentina), Nigga Fighter (Argentina) And a huge amount of great players from Brazil. The game gives for many more combos and pressures. It is one of the best 1v1 ever made. Thanks Max for giving the "new" version of Steam a chance.

Rock isn't very good in MoW compared to the other characters, but he has some pretty good buttons and decent combo paths. You have to put more effort for similar rewards as other characters (And compared to Top3 can't reach what they have access to) but there's a lot of ways to get better with him and stay viable at most levels of play

Max, the yellow is how much delay you're setting, not rollback! You set the delay to be fixed for 5 frames on a match that didn't need it. If you want all rollback, set it all the way to the left.

Rock does have a good super, definitely Shine Knuckle. Zero frame after the flash. What's good with him is pretty basic from using that, from what I've seen. Counters and rage run aren't great haha

I would love it if the Smash team were to make Rock work as a Terry echo in Ultimate, kinda like how Ken works as an echo but has some different moves and animations

One thing I hate about Rock's Neo Deadly Rave, is that it's very stage dependent due to emulation. For some reason, this is a problem on all ports, but it's much worse on the PS4 port. If the stage is having too much happening at once, the game slows down drastically, and already messes up the strict timing on the move. This makes it almost impossible to correctly input the move on stages for Hotaru, Tizoc, Grant, or Kevin, as once the move is inputed, it SLOWS way too much. You basically have to be in a corner for the move to run consistently.
