i bought one used from 2012. kohler powered and 60" cut. it is a beast. i keep 4 acres of thick grass with dithes and swails. have used every other combo like kubota L2450 w woods finish. left nice cut but scalped all the highs and hurt my neck to operate . used a 27 hp cub w kohler and w 60" deck andit took two days and couldn't handle high grass. also 24 hp yanmar tractor with woods finish. also sucked. this exmark just eats everything like king kong. it moves better and throws discharge 12 feet . i won't waste my time on an other mower. i spent 3000$ on a new hydro unit right after i got it but well worth it. paid 3k for mower . now it is basicaly all like new and i clean it after every use. gets maintenance after eveerty 4th mow. been super reliable and super capable. great mower . easiest blade change of all mowers ive used.

Older exmarks were having problems with mufflers falling off because the hoses going to the muffler would crack and break from the mower going over rough terrain. So they added some flex hosing to keep it from vibrating the fittings apart basically

I just got the same exact mower ! Absolutely love it. The cut quality is phenomenal. It's worth it to go X series for the Hydros....in my opinion. eXmark Lazer Z 'X series' IS NUMBER ONE FOR A REASON !!!!!

Put Oregon blades on the lazers, they will cut wet grass a lot better.

I've been an exmark man all my life. I bought a john deere z955m this year because all the dealers here were sold out of exmark. I'm glad they were sold out I tell ya the John deere out cuts all my exmarks. It has a smoother cut. I still love my exmarks but from here on out I'll be buying john deere. Go demo one if you have a dealer close.

best engine it's underrated they use a different rating than briggs and kohler way more accurate and conservative 25.5hp would be close to 32hp in their hp rating

Nice mower ! My buddy has the lazer z s-series 52" with the fx801. It's a heck of a mower. I run a Kubota but , I wouldn't have any objective to owning a Exmark.

I have an 05 liquid cooled version of this I am debating between a new one or a Kubota. I live on 60 acres so I am just a guy with a lot of cut but only about 7 hours worth a week. My dad has an older kubota its def a good mower I would argue in lower hour use and owning longer periods of time Kubota might be a better one. Not sure which way to go. I have the exmark mulch and striping kit on mine.

Love the 16 cc direct drives I only buy the x series it’s a 6 series deck also .better deck than the series cut 4 . Efi is better than carb to ever clean better fuel consumption and 36 hp Koehler .Kawasaki would be my next choice .

Those hydros sounds way stronger than my lazer z e. The e series leaves a bit to be desired 🙄 and the two silver things are just flex pipe

@@GoodmanLawnCare Yes, those are flex pipes. Exmark/Kawasaki has had issues with the 801 (and 751, 850) motors cracking heads due to vibration from the design of the muffler. I think the muffler you have on your new mower mounts to the frame too, where the old one mounted to the mower. There is a warranty bulletin for the older mowers to replace with that newer style muffler if the head cracks.

@@js4455dl I came off scag turf tiger s. 16cc pump and wheel motor setup way more powerful than what the e series has, the deck bounces terribly over rough terrain (my scags didn't) the machine just isn't as responsive as my turf tigers. It's pretty and the hydros are smooth but I like responsive more than smooth🤷🏼‍♂️.

Daryl I ck the air in my front ones that I'm demo and it had 35lbs in the front tires I thank that's too high so looked in the book it was supposed to have about 13 I hope that helps me or I'm not keeping it thanks for the info have a great 4th of July

I have never felt like it doesn’t have enough power. It’s absolutely perfect for what I do. I have put it in grass that was taller then me and that should have probably been mowed with a bushog. The 801 engine has a ton of power.

I run the Koehler s efi way better .36 hp better on. Gas and quieter also . Can’t beat the efi systems . I have 3 exmarks all 60 inch .

I have the 37hp Vanguard oil guard. The 37hp EFI motor makes a big difference on speed and thick grass. It’s also better on gas, a lot more quiet and obviously way more powerful. Spend the extra money.
