We got up at 4:45 am to catch our plane Friday morning, and there was no electricity in the hotel!!! We had to get ready using the flashlights on our phones. We also were caught in a huge traffic jam on the way to the airport, so I was very stressed by the time we checked in. (I think this is why I forgot that I meant to carry on the suitcase with the breakables.)

You might consider using the Japanese art called Kintsugi to repair your broken teapot--it involves highlighting in gold all the seams where the item is put back together/ The result can be quite beautiful. Might be a way to salvage the teapot, and would certainly make for a conversation piece!

Edit: That $20 teapot was an incredible bargain! It broke my heart that it didn’t make it😢 Edit 2: the box with the brass hinges (at 29:03) might possibly be a candy box, I have a larger one that my mama passed down to me along with its backstory that a boy who had a crush on her (she was only 13) brought to her hospital room when she got her appendix removed! She was mortified but kept the box. That was in 1948!

I was fascinated by the bird diarama. They were so colorful! Creeped me out, but still they were beautiful

I do mosaics with broken dishes/pottery. If I were you, I'd use the pieces from the broken teapot and that broken plate in a mosaic. You could maybe incorporate the teapot lid too. It is a great way to use broken things with sentimental value or great beauty! The cloche with the taxidermy birds reminded me of a bar my parents used to go to in northern Wisconsin. The bar owner was a taxidermist and the bar was filled with his work. He had a big glass cabinet filled with tiny birds on branches. I found it so fascinating as a child. I didn't appreciate the large snarling gray wolf that was around a corner on the way to the ladies' restroom though!

Hi Sherri isn’t Brimfield a blast! Did three days from 8-4 usually go to the May or Sept show. You got some great things, we bought a stained glass window this year also.

I would definitely put a (Christmas) diorama in the clock. That would be amazing.

We bought our chandelier at Brimfield a few years ago. It's gorgeous. I was there Friday. Tbe weather was perfect! Next time fly here and rent a box truck and drive it home! Glad you enjoyed Brimfield. May and September are the best times to go. July is so hot here!

I wonder if our chandeliers are from the same vendor. He and his wife are from Montenegro. We were there Tuesday and Wednesday. We were tired and without cash, so we went to the Mark Twain house on Thursday. Did you buy some fun things?

@CanterburyCottage I think it must be the same family. They said they were originally Albania. They said they bought out a chandelier factory on the east coast. Such nice people. At one time they said they had 3 tents full of chandeliers at Brimfield. Imagine! I bought a few things to flip and sell. Was a great day!

I think that clock with the clock face would make a great diorama but it would also be a great place to hide valuables! Those small domed glass pictures would be lovely in larger frames mounted on maroon or black velvet! I'm so glad you got to go to Brimfield; I envy you! I loved seeing Brimfield; years ago we went to several dollhouse shows in Sturbridge and the Museum as well as a few antique stores in Brimfield; it was a marvelous time!

Oh Sherrie, keep the old clock with the columns as a clock with its face. I had one that I was supposed to get when my mother passed last month but it has disappeared like so many other things of my parents’ memories have done. I cried when you said you might make a diorama. I know your work and it would be beautiful, but even not working, that clock is gorgeous. I love your channel!
