This skit does have a good message at its core. And I've been saying it forever. I've been fortunate to have been around many cultures in my life. We're more alike than we are different. Precisely. The main difference is the cultural grievances. (Christian nationalism and all that it covers, mainly).
@cctomcat321 Жыл бұрын
Precisely. The intersectionality of classism and racism. The "us" vs "them" should be working class folks against the mega wealthy and corporations. The proletariat vs bourgeoisie. Which is the entire point of right wing culture issues. To pit the working classes against each other while trying to convince the individual that they're just a multimillionaire in waiting. *"You* can be insanely wealthy, too! Just be a class traitor. Hate your neighbor, not your boss. Aren't trans people weird? Now pay no mind while I rob you blind..." Politicians on the right have done such a good job at mixing faith with politics, preachers have been told their preaching was too "liberal" after he read from the Sermon from the Mount.
@rammsteinrulz1610 ай бұрын
So you're saying broke people have more in common with broke people than rich people? 😅
@grimmmetals52909 ай бұрын
@@cctomcat321 I find that genuinely interesting, I'm not even joking. Because from the rural point of view ( rural folks are generally all the same no matter their race ) we are experiencing the mirror opposite, and we see it coming from the left. To pit the working class against each other based on race and sex, intersectionality, city vs rural, and gender ideology to divide people into little small groups that they feel like they have to identify with and defend. Then stir the pot and watch all of the little identities fight themselves instead of the problem, the unelected continual corporate government, aka the deepstate. You'd probably call them the corporations, fascists, or commies, they are all the same thing. From the rightwing rural point of view we just want to get along with everyone based on their individuality, but ideologies keep getting forced into our communities through the government and corporate systems almost like they are trying to purposefully attack the culture. Just like I wouldn't want rural Appalachian culture forced into a school in Portland Oregon or Brooklyn New York, the opposite it true. We are being told that we are evil because we kinda miss the government style of America in the 80's and 90's, where we had plenty of national and international problems but everything was okay because the government and media weren't demonizing citizens and everyone put in the effort to get along. They are pitting small cultures against each other that are in truth actually far removed from each other and not an actual threat from the view of the common man of any race, ethnicity, gender, sexuality, or religion.
@cctomcat3219 ай бұрын
@grimmmetals5290 respectfully, you should probably look up some of those terms. Some of them are opposed to each other. Especially what it means to be "right-wing." Sorry, but it just sounds like you have a bunch of uneducated people talking about how they feel vs what's happening. If you guys love equity and equality, then you wouldn't be having any issue with other types of people. But I'd wager a big topic of conversation is "DEI and the woke nonsense." Never mind how easy it is to pit the uneducated against their own interests. Especially when it comes to the uneducated white guy. A certain LBJ quote about pockets comes to mind. You can't whip around terms like "fascism" and "commie" (I'm a socialist) and expect them to mean the same thing. They don't. If you're worried about fascism? Go read the Heritage Foundation's Plan for 2025. When fascism comes to American shores, it will be draped in the flag, carrying a Bible and wearing a little cross necklace. And while you all argue about stuff most of you don't know about? Your bosses are selling out more futures down the line for short-term gains. Look up wage vs productivity, look up average cost of living increase over 50 years, the average first time ownership of a house increase, etc. The progressive "left" telling people that it's OK to be more than a white cis male aren't your issue. It's culture war nonsense literally drummed up in a think tank to accomplish exactly what you just did. Muddy the waters so bad, you can't tell your toe from a rock. But let's rock this out in good faith. What are some examples? Because you simultaneously claim to want individualism while saying individualism is being forced on you. This is why Trump loves the uneducated voter. And for the record? Democrats and liberals aren't "the left." They're centrists with a leaning to left or right depending.

I'm just a lighter shade of brown than he is. Our kids play together all the time. I know racism is still a thing, but it's not much of one around here. Also, Hey big brother. Good to have you around. Have a great night yall.

I grew up in the South. I don’t know why racism is still a thing. Our valedictorian, head cheerleader and Homecoming Queen were all one girl named Keena, one of the country’s best and brightest and I hope she’s gotten all she worked for. But still there wasn’t that much mixing and people in town were in the Klan (all quiet like) and I don’t get it. They got Doug right, though. I knew a lot of Dougs.

@@BeeWhistler I've known many myself. And I don't know either. Oddly, I think the South has got it together these days far better than other places. When I was a little kid, I knew a couple of Klan guys myself, but all that is either gone now or so far underground that you can't see it unless you look hard and really want to find the bastards. I've never had a racially motivated problem in my life and I don't think anyone in the family has either. Improv is at the root of SNL skits, and forms the basis of the writing style employed, and Mr. Video puts out improvisional content every day. He distinguishes himself from other reactors with his ability to reference aspects of pop culture, current events and personal experience in an often humorous way. So much so that he has been acknowledged by some of thise he reacts to. Can he use training? Probably. Is he getting traing through his content creation? Absolutely. If he so desired, he can look to speed up the process. Second City in Chicago is a 4 hour drive from his base in Toledo. Right now they have online classes that he would not even have to commute for.
