A common trend I noticed - though this is not always correct - is that if they liked AC Valhalla a LOT they didnt like Mirage, and if they did didnt like Valhalla at all they liked Mirage

Yeah, AC3 was a massive downward shift for the franchise. Major spoilers ahead... beware anyone who hasn't played AC3 Connor was a terrible, one note protag. They killed off Desmond and I know it's an unpopular opinion but I enjoyed the current day segments where Desmond through the bleeding effect gained the abilities of Altaiir and Ezio. We stopped seeing the ones that came before( or at least they weren't as relevant as before in the later games ) and they missed a massive opportunity like you said to have us play with Desmond as an assassin in current day. The only good thing for me was the excellent plot twist at the beginning where Ubisoft made it look like you were playing with Haythem as the next protag only to reveal you are seeing the story from the view of the Templars.

I've enjoyed the Ubisoft titles I've picked up. I thought Valhalla offered incredible value and enjoyed the story as well as Odyssey. I enjoy the AC series but I don't buy every Ubisoft title or every title from any Developer for that matter, I only buy games that interest me.

I so agree with your score. Though the game isn't perfect, they pulled off exactly what they set out to do which was make an old school Assassins Creed game. I really think they nailed it with the budget they were working with. And my #1 biggest problem with the game is the facial animations too. It's been the 1 thing that has always snatched me out of the immersion of these games

As for the dude jumping on you for this comment, I think it's a bit exaggerated however this game doesn't look all that much better than the last few. Unity is still impressive when it's not glitching, but if I were to compare this one with just let's say Assassin's Creed origins on 1X/series X in 4K, you would see a difference but it probably wouldn't be anything you would call major The game doesn't look next gen that's for sure

Nice video review. I’ve been enjoying several of DreamcastGuy reviews this year. I never was grabbed by AC back in the day, But I liked the idea of the concept and enjoyed the movie. I feel this is a 50/50 opinion for most fans. I think Ubisoft needs to make two game modes, one which removes most of the side missions and other crap. Then have another game mode which includes all of it so it gives all gamers an option regardless of the AC title

I'm an old school AC player, and I must admit, AC Origins, Odyssey and Valhalla were thee best in the series. I'm just saying, I'd rather pay $70 for a 100hr adventure than for a 15hr. Not worth it, and if the next big AC games are moving forward in this direction then I think it's time for Prince of Persia to make it's return and take back it's rightful throne.

Okay calm down guys, I might've gotten the price tag wrong due to currency differences, but just to double down on my previous point, I feel like Odyssey and Valhalla were beautiful open world games and while none of them are perfect, I prefer the open world genre.

I really want single player Batman games to come back again! They shouldn't have ever stopped.. They could make so many different stories based off of different villains. Could go a heavy noire direction and solving crimes with forensic evidence abilities. That's Just one idea.

Look, I've been playing assassin's creed since the very first one and to be very honest just looking at the game play it doesn't look like anything special. The only thing that stands out to me is the fact that the NPC looks a little more smarter and get involved but it just seems like the same old AC. The combat looks janky, The parkour doesn't look smooth in transition, but i will be playing it just to see if im wrong.

I don't mind short 15 hour games of quality HOWEVER I do think the price should reflect that and be cheaper for a game being shorter , without losing that quality!!!

I know the Spider-Man video was 2 days ago, but I think 15-30 to finish this AC game is fine whereas Spider-Man 2 for $20 more should have about 20 more hours in it. I know they could've added more content without it feeling bloated, but it was a dev decision

This is basically dlc for 10 year old ac games , same systems , same animations , worse story , worse combat ,same braindead AI that stares in walls waiting to be killed . Sit in a haystack and whistle and kill one npc after another no matter if its 5 or 10 , cause only one gets attracted at a time and no one gets suspicious , yeah , great stealth game .... wtf ?! I like old and new school Assassins Creed, what I don't like is smaller games, however I'm sure Mirage will get some expansions.

I don't know man. I trusted your reviews before and after playing this game it's complete trash. I just got done plat. the remastered games. Get to this one.. I thought 3 was bad...I glitch through things. Cant climb curtain things unlike in the previous Ac games. Its 2023. Doesnt feel good at all. WTF stamina bar.. This is not Darksoul type of a game. All these games coming out recently are complete trash if you ask me.

This is way more for me then the last few. Shorter, more focused on the classic stuff instead of some shoehorned fantasy hero cliche (like a spartan or pirate), stealth and parkour actually being a thing again, the removal of useless RPG stuff, less filler bloat in the way (meaning more focus on whats important) etc

@@alehe7903 Origins felt like you never got off the ground from the trailers it has to be atleast a little better then that...but that's sad Assassin's Creed needed a reboot cause it was getting stagnant but I feel like it lost a lot of it's identity by the time they did Origins already and then pushing it into an RPG really messed with the concepts it started on

When I think of Assassin's Creed I think *Adrenaline filled leaps of faith that should make you almost pee your pants *Careful and intricate Assassinations that are stylish but also make you feel like a badass *Parkouring seamlessly. I feel like Unity/Syndicate did decent enough. It was never perfect as you'd jump to the wrong platform sometimes on accident but it doesn't seem any improved now...the newer games just feel like the scale and frequency have been toned down a lot. •Badass combat finishers that are over the top brutal (souls like inspiration I think weakened this fantasy) •An intriguing protagonist that has a good story regardless of the lore
