They definitely could have added an under the stairs bathroom/wetroom. Just a triangle shape object with the same shower animation just with the clothes on. Would be kind of a rabbit hole experience but would have been an awesome feature

I always see people complaining the Murphy bed is not really saving space because it takes up the same amount of tiles as a normal bed, always forgetting it also doubles as a sofa so you are technically saving three tiles because you don't have to buy a sofa

For a pack built around 'tiny' living it offered very little in the way of space-saving items. We could have had new ladders, spiral staircases, mini-fridges, all-in-one bathrooms like in TS3... So many missed opportunities to actually allow for tiny living

I'm not a builder, but this pack was the first pack that actually got me invested in building a cute house from scratch. I think I like it more than snowy escape which is probably a bad sign bc the reason I bundled things was just for snowy escape.

I'd say, though, for me, since it's a pack about BUILDING the very limited and meh build/buy items are a big problem... I'd want to have a couple more styles of furniture, bunk beds and mezzanines... Otherwise I'm gonna make one or two tiny houses and forget about it forever because I'd feel like I'm making the same house over and over.

4:38 Murphy beds are actually kinda bugged, and their failure rate is way too high! It's because the function for failing objects makes them more likely to fail the longer they're in use, and a bed gets several hours of use a day. (I believe sitting on it as a sofa also counts as use). It doesn't really show up when you're first playing with it, since it builds over time, but they're basically ticking time bombs

Tiny Living is one of my favorite stuff packs (I alternate between Tiny Living and Paranormal as my favorite stuff packs), and I agree with your criticisms about the build/buy. Even though I personally get a lot of use out of it, I do really only use the light wood tones, the blacks, and the whites in this set. I don't really like the mismatched wooden set or the reddish woods, just not my cup o tea. So, if anyone has University, I almost exclusively make my sims complete their degrees from home in a micro home. They get their skills up super fast, and they can cook. And also, they're never late for class when they live off campus (with the exception of when I'm not paying attention and lose track of the time in my game). 😂
@pathogenofdecay Жыл бұрын
What I heard when Satch mentioned the murphy bed wasn't "murphy bed", but *"murder bed"...* because as soon as I used one, my sim got locked into a scripted death and I couldn't use the bed without dying. lol I then got an Icemunmun mod that removes the death. lol
@athannyx68152 жыл бұрын
My major complaint with tiny living is actually not the options they gave. It's the fact I have to go and download a mod for a combination bathroom, sink/toilet + small shower or use an outhouse rather than the return of the All in One bathroom from sims 3 to help with space. If I didn't have the woohoo bush I would not have a lot of the freedom I would want with it. Particularly since the best benefits are with the micro home. Also what's with no attempts to make tiny homes work with family gameplay? I find it an added level of fun challenge and could you imagine if they had actually gone with "How to fit a toy box, a small toddler bed and a toddler toilet in a tiny house." I like giving my sims hell yes by giving them toddlers in tiny homes. One of those poor unfortunate souls had twins. I mean I can increase it to the max tiny house size... But they didn't even try any other combination objects for you doing stupid tetris crap with your sims? Edit: I do really really enjoy this pack gameplay wise as you can tell though.

This pack bundled with get together and either dream home decorator or Parenthood is my ride or die. I have begun building Grand tiny homes which qualify as micro homes but are fully appointed three four and even five bedroom houses. You have to dink around with it a bit but this way you get the benefits of the micro home and still get to enjoy a well appointed ranch home. My 100 baby challenge on my channel is in a hacked micro home.

I do love this pack! Especially since I dream about owning a small house. Not a micro house, those are hell and suffocating, but small house. So I get a lot of fun biulding my dream house there. The only thing that is a shame is that the kit "Bust the dust" is turned off in these houses. But aside from that, I really think is one of the best packs of the game.

It's more like Modern Cozy Living instead of Tiny Living.. yeah, although the bb and cas are pretty, i was disappointed because the bb is not tiny enough, and no extra storage. i imagine we would get storage like in japan, for example in kitchen, they only need very small kitchen, and the cabinet contains dish rack etc. and yes, where's the mini fridge? also like you, i imagined we would get extra storage somewhere in the house. i was disappointed that it's not tiny, and was shocked when i found out that other bb in base game and other packs are humongous. ok i still like the concept and since the items bb and CAS in this pack are pretty. maybe i'll try the lot challenge in the future.

TBH, I hate tiny builds. Love the pack, but hate the concept of “tiny living”. I’m used to my Sims 1-2 days where I made spacious rooms to accommodate all my items with no routing issues. 😅 And I *HATE* the unfairly random risk of death from the Murphy bed. Cross compatibility. That reminds me that Tiny Living is quite incompatible with the Bust the Dust Kit because if you try to vacuum a room that's too small, your sim will probably just walk out and cancel the interaction, forcing themselves to either be miserable in a horribly dusty home (and I think evil dust bunnies can kill your sim with fire?), or you will be forced to turn off the pack in the gameplay settings. There also aren't many objects that can be vacuumed with a dust vac, so a dust vac may not be able to fix the problem.

one thing i will never understand is why the toilet from tiny living is not functional off the grid!!!!! (unless you decide to upgrade it to a composting one) I do love this pack and prefer playing smaller homes in the sims. but I do think that the build buy is kinda lacking... like the table top oven from dream home decorater makes sense here... along with ladders (at the time we didn't have them) also more loft bed options would have made sense

2:54 I just noticed that the fold-down bed can be placed against a wall. Normally, you have to leave spaces on either side of the bed so the sims can get in. Now I see there's a new animation where the sim can scoot across the bed to get to the side against the wall and then back out. I wonder if this enables all beds to work in a corner, or just the fold-down bed. (Ahh, I see you covered this later in the video 😔)

This pack is IMHO the best DLC made for the sims 4. Not because its the biggest, or most complex. Not because its something we desperately wanted. Not because it's got a load of new things in it. Because its the most concise and well implemented pack. Its got a theme and it focuses on perfecting that theme. It implemented a new system perfectly. Gave us a challenge and rewards actually worth having for managing that challenge. They didn't do off in some weird tangent with random rubbish. They made a theme and delivered it perfectly. This is the pack that eventually made me stop boycotting TS4 DLC. I do blame this pack for how many I've bought now though. I was quite happy boycotting the watered down crap they keep selling. This pack genuinely delivered what it promised and was worth buying with actual value for money. It was a turning point in how they make their packs. Don't get me wrong they're still shallow in many ways, but this pack changed how they produced DLC a fair bit. Then horse ranch happened and were back to square one.
