For a while I've been pretty against the idea of a middle ground game, I always envisioned it just not pleasing either side, but I'll be honest, Infinite seems to be giving me a run for my money. Like I said in the video, ADS/Sprint/Clamber/Slide are still there but seem to have such a drastically reduced focus, which will *hopefully* mean maps aren't designed around then and weapons aren't balanced around them, which will allow classic playlists to co-exist alongside the core game. I really hope so, at least. A guy can dream lol

Honestly I think either 343 is doing a really good job keeping this "mysterious" before the game launches, but its possible we could see a very linear story with how it's told to us through just character script and basic objective based missions riding on the back of a well put together "expansive open world" Or we could see a spectacular branched out story with creative ways to get these answers to questions we have pre launch. I just don't want another Cyberpunk situation. The game is 98% linear riding on the back of its broken open world concept.

If you check out when the Spartan is killed carrying an over shield, it shows how the player attempts to activate the shield to protect themselves from another spartan. Yet, the equipment activation animation prevents the spartan from equipping it in time before they are killed. This means that equipment can't effectively be used as an emergency life saver.

@@sabasman don't be so optimistic when it comes to things like this. Big game companies have a tendency to do whatever they feel like, and 343i has a record of ignoring what fans want. MCC was fixed but it was left to rot for 3 years. That, and "10 year" plans never work out in this industry

Also think about the beauty of the academy concept. I love the gritty, military realistic feel most of all... It still feels like Halo, but more detailed and gritty, the AR, BR and Sniper specifically are exactly what I wanted from a new Halo game The HUD of the zoomed in BR just perfect It’s that feeling that Reach was finally capable of bringing the art style towards, but which H4 and 5 just moved away from Love to see it back

nona specifically look at the part where the player is practicing their aim at the range (blue spartan running across, I assume it’s a bot) and the player is shooting them with a BR, feels way more “realistic” than 4 or 5 Not all the weapons feel like his but I’m specifically talking about the AR, Sniper, BR, and pistol alongside the better looking armours and more “realistic” environments/human structures Compare the Bazar and Avery Johnson Academy with the round UNSC structures from 4 and 5, like on map Complex, like the bases from Warzone...it all felt so cartoonish, glad to see human structures actually feeling real again for the first time really since Reach But these things combined give me the “griity” feel...but maybe gritty isn’t the right word

I have a feeling they're going to have Chief giving The Weapon some of the exposition for Forerunner installation/Covenant enemy type stuff. Since he's experienced with both, and she is not. I could be wrong, but it would be an interesting twist on the common "AI tells you things" trope. Insofar as the coatings go, I'd be surprised and disappointed if all of the classic flat colors weren't available for free, with the more intricate patterns being ones you unlock via gameplay or the battle pass.

Her files/consciousness are/is just in a dormant state at the moment, but will become active later in the story after Chief has developed a relationship with "The Weapon", killing "The Weapon" or combining her with Cortana's mind.

I don't really think you foreshadow the main character's death in the trailer and 343 probably wants to continue making halo games. Chief dying would be interesting though. My take is that chief was remembering what happened during the battle with the banished and those were Cortana's final words before something happened with the weapon. I really hope they didn't combine, it just seems way too obvious

Let's hope the assault rifle can actually kill enemies, regardless of what sweaty, precision meta pros say. It's the series' signature weapon and yet it's been trash except for CE and 5 (and don't mention Halo 3's assault rifle, it sucks with the slowest projectile speed and fire rate out of all the guns (TTK is longer at medium-range than even the SMG)).

Strong disagree. As a starting weapon, the Assault Rifle is meant to be strong enough to allow you to hold your own when used as a part of the combat triangle (Weapons/Melee/Grenades) until you find a better weapon via scavenging, and not so powerful that you rarely drop it for anything that isn't a power weapon. I will defend Halo 3's AR until the nuclear winter as the best AR in the series functionally, it served its role perfectly. Wasn't overpowered, was effective when used in concordance with nades and melee and allowed you to hold your own until you found a BR/Carbine/power weapon on the map somewhere. Halo 4's AR was pretty well done too, if a tiny bit OP pre-Turbo patch. Halo 5's was outright overpowered imo, the combination of ADS and headshot multiplier made it far too effective out of what should've been its effective range and watered down its position in the sandbox and as an element of the combat triangle

I love how the E3 presentation has completely flipped people's opinion about Halo. People are gone from quickly trashing to fiercely defending Halo now. So I'm all for people liking Halo!

A sort of underrated (in my opinion) aspect of classic Halo that I always found great was speedrunning capability. I mean, there were always sophisticated methods to get through the classic trio at hyperspeed, whether intentional in-game or via glitches or exploits discovered by the community. At the very least, I hope that items like the Grappling Hook and the general open-worldness of Infinite will open the door to growth in the Halo speedrunning community. It's not a hard requirement though.

I know alot of people want a higher player count mode like 24v24 but you have to think about the fact that they have probably tried to implement this. But it's got its problems, such as the mode feeling very chaotic, and the maps would have to be massive.

Has 343 confirmed if features like Forge and maybe Firefight will be part of purchasing Halo Infinite or free with the multiplayer? Because I agree that a full AAA price tag for just a campaign is a bit much, so if Forge and other things like it are part of that price tag, then I think it's fine. But if literally the only thing that is paid for is the campaign - yeah, there needs to be something else, like a few free battle passes or exclusive cosmetics.

I’m pretty sure Forge is going to be free with the multiplayer. It would be stupid to say multiplayer is free and then lock the creative parts that keep people engaged in multiplayer when they’re not playing match made games locked behind a paywall.

Halo is finally setting standards instead of following what's popular! 343i finally understands that Halo can stand on its own and survive without following what's in the trend. It's nice to see that other games, even Destiny fans, are pushing Bungie to adopt Halo Battlepass system.

What 343 could do to bring back dual wielding without having to rebalance things is to do a COD kind of dual wielding. In COD, you can’t find one gun and then find the same gun to dual wield it, you need to find a separate akimbo version. Having this would bypass rebalancing maps and allow for 343 to balance the guns however they please, potentially allowing us to melee, throw grenades, and make it so it’s _actually_ double the damage. In other words, having dual wielding weapons being separate power weapons instead of just two weapons.

I think the reason halo's battle pass is better is because the way even with mcc you got the game late you could always go back to 1st season to start from there and you can grind for that armor piece. While other companies battlepasses they are more pay to get and ofc you have a period of time before its gone

The thing about red vs blue is that as long as they have those same giant blue arrows on top of teammates that have been there through Halo's 1-4 (I never played 5 so I don't know if it has them) then I think there should be no problems with getting rid of red vs blue for Infinite.

It's linear but has an open world, but not an open world game, there's one open world though, and it's only one biome, there's also upgrades, but they haven't been explained, weapons could have attachments, or they could have varients. Seriously, what is the campaign supposed to be?

20:40 actually, I saw a video by someone who studied every aspect of the footage intensively and they said that sprint does little to nothing. I think it’s probably there for new players who have the muscle memory to sprint every single second of their life. Also ADS is similar supposedly.
