Even though this was recorded months ago , glad the trip helped with your mental health. Over the years I’ve changed how I clear my head. It started with silence and being alone. Then for probably 15 years video games were my escape. I still play some video games nowadays but I have shifted mostly to playing board games and watching online content like yours. So I appreciate each and every video you put time and effort into. Good luck over this next busy and stressful year ahead 👍

There is nothing like travelling to clear your mind. We are counting the days to get back out on the road again with our new to us truck camper set up. Too cold for us to camp here in Canada now unfortunately. We did 20000km this summer in our Motorhome and had a blast. However you decide to travel makes no difference, it’s doing it that matters. You will certainly enjoy the new camper setup you loving put all the work into. Have a great year and maybe we’ll cross paths somewhere on the open road!

Another great video and glad as usual and glad you share your thoughts on your trip and how it's effecting your life and mental State with needing time to be alone and think about life and your future and I feel the same about having the freedom to leave and be semi free with your schedule and time to do things you really want to do. I would have no problem in putting your car to good use of and when you decide to sell it please keep me in mind as I feel you have a good setup there and a good option if someone wants to do things similar to what you did with the Buick looking forward to your building the van and trips to shake it out before you go on long trips thanks for sharing your thoughts and adventures with your group here Kraig from Washington State

I drove 15hrs one say I left at devils tower and drove straight through to Close to St Louis. Biggest mistake I ever made. I was shaking and sick by the time I got back but like you I missed my dog. I bought a full-size conversion van tore out the seats and built it out. Now my dog hates to ride. She has family to stay with but I’m thinking about getting a kitty and training it to ride. Just not sure yet. I have high anxiety also and don’t like to be around people. I’ve made a few videos which is hard for me. I’ve made up my mind in May I’m heading north. Last time I got lost in Omaha when I took a wrong turn and I felt like I was in the ghetto. My phone would not give me the right directions. I was headed to MT but made it to Wall, SD. It was August and 100*. Now with the full-size van I will go further but it’s older (2003) and I’m worried somewhat about breaking down in the middle of nowhere.

Back to your van buiild, I have a shuttle bus I'm building out. I have a tiny suv I wanted to tow tow on a a tow dolly. It's more than I want to pull. I still need something in case I break down and need to get somewhere for help. Also to scout trails and run for groceries. I bought a small trailer and plan to load up up my riding mower for for that until I can afford a quad. Easy to unhitch and turn around.

im thinking about getting a bike some day. like an enduro or whatever they're called now
@douglaswhite13065 күн бұрын
@vanlifemeow I'm too old for a bike of any kind. 72 and quite crippled. I have an electric handicapped 4 wheel cart and lift I'll be putting on the front of my shuttle. It's on the front of my Ford Cargo van right now. It'll travel 11 miles faster than most men can run, but I want more range and off road capability even though it is for turf and gravel travel.

Back in the 70s a high school friend had a hand me down Buick Lesabre . Nothing special to look at but his dad worked for Buick corporate in the Motor City and was able to source an unassembled Buick big block 455 stage 1 engine . My friend put the engine together , throwing in a meaner than stock cam and damn if that car wasn’t the fastest torque monster on the road ! Car was a sleeper so cops didn’t pay it any attention . I got to drive it just once as designated driver after a party that lasted into the wee hours . Fun times .The road sure did belong to that Buick !

Hyundai Elantras get pretty good gas mileage. You might pick up one of those cheap and put some buick emblems on it. A ton of parts out there for those. Spacious vehicle too.
@bobtailedtrucker25216 күн бұрын
@OffGridThoughtsChannel True, but the 3.8 v6 in that buick is bullet proof as long as you can source parts.

By the way Nomad life is great especially when you can stop here and there and work a while then move on to something new and exciting and steer clear of the big cities so I've been everywhere in the US and parts of Canada and seen just about everything to see and probably the most exciting is when I work at the World's Fair in Montreal Canada in 1967 and lived on the island I think it was laround but it was part of where the exhibits were next to Montreal. Anyway enjoy life there's so many years you get and when they're gone they're gone

Glad you're not focusing on selling the buick. Having a backup drive while breaking the van in is smart. You'll know when it's time to let the Buick go. Maybe look into a financial counselor, they have great resources and ideas that will help you get on the road sooner. When you get on the road maybe you can volunteer at cat shelters they desperately need people to help out

I think you made a good choice! You ave a good idea move towards it with all speed. You can do it! Good luck enjoy hoe and the kitties. Stop beating your self up. You never know till you drive it. Rest,eat enjoy the kitties! Donate the car! So odd there is a Japanese young man traveling starting with a skate board and now has a Moped is challenged himself to go to each province and get a sticker for the moped. It’s freezing cod but one by one es getting them to! He too is a YT blogger.and has a dream to see it all. His final dream is a van. Interesting coincidence!
