My C7 Z06 Was Stolen!

On November 4th between 2-3pm my Chevrolet Corvette C7 Z06 was stolen right in front of AMLI Fountain Place in Downtown Dallas. AMLI Fountain Place is a luxury apartment complex in downtown Dallas off of North Fields Street. There has been a huge surge in auto theft in Dallas recently and many of these thefts are happening at AMLI APARTMENT COMPLEXES!!
BUY A KILL SWITCH AND USE A THIRD PARTY GPS.
If you drive a C7 Z06, a Nissan GTR, a Dodge Ram TRX, or a Cadillac Escalade you are in danger of having your car stolen. These are extremely easy to steal and many thieves are getting away with it.

@@Z06SmokeShow I’ve seen that spec before! It’s amazing! You can go with carbon fiber or carbon flash splitters, and rockers and it will look amazing. I really wish I had the carbon ceramics

My friend hid an AirTag in his car and that helped him when it got stolen

@@kobyspurgin I just double checked and it runs off the find my app…the furthest I’ve gone from my stuff is 4 hrs and could see it. The air tag would be good because it will notify you when it gets so far away from your phone

​@@kobyspurginthe air tag updates it's current location whenever an iphone walks by it or whenever and iphone gets close to it. So that helps a lot. But shouldn't be the only tracking system you should have on your car... The air tags are cheap .. I think about a hundred bucks or somewhere around there.. But I would say buy an air tag, and also a full tracking system that comes with a kill switch.. Spending a thousand dollars to protect $70k isn't a bad decision if you ask me. Thank God you found that zo6 bro.. I pray I'll be able to afford one soon.❤

Hey Koby, glad you got your C7Z back. Do you know how they were able to start your car? What year is your Z06?

My Z06 is a 2017 2LZ. I believe it was started by a tuner/obd2 scanner port. I believe the alarm and immobilizer were turned off/jammed. I was not near the car when it was stolen so I can’t think they transmitted the signal. Maybe a duplicate key was made from the VIN number. I’m not sure 100% and that’s the scary part!

Some one has to be close enough to get a reading on your keyfoob and vehicles radio signals in order to duplicate the signal to fool the car to start and replicate it. Its not that simple but its easy to do if you can be near a person and their vehicle for a length of time or near the vehicle and its key fob. You have to pay attention to who trails you when you drive. Make sure nobody follows you for too long. If they do. Never go to your destination. Go some where else until they are lost. If you buy cars like these, make sure you have enough money to buy a house with a multi car garage or can build a garage. Cars sitting outside all night are easy targets because its easy to watch them since they now know where you live. Keep your keys in a gun safe or a signal blocker box. Never park next to people sitting in their vehicles where ever you go. Never park next to vehicles with window tint you cannot see through because it may be people in there waiting for this opportunity.

The hard thing is getting GM to take the car in to run diagnostics on it and get my car back to normal. My GPS, Alarm and Horn don't go off anymore and I need them to fix it under the insurance claim. Unfortunately, even though I found my car its still considered theft, but now it Theft (with recovery) and Vandalism. It's been a headache. You've got a great car! My GMC At4 duramax was stolen a block away from there on OCT.6th. Fortunately I was able to recover my truck a whole month later in Mesquite. When I recovered my truck I found the key fob that they had programed.

It looks and feels like a genuine GM key fob, but not a specific brand. It doesn't have the chevy or gmc emblem on the back side.

Im so sorry you went through that and are still dealing with this. The best thing you can do is to wait on the police to find your car. If the police hadn’t found mine I would be SOL. Take notes for next time - watch my newer video about how they steal them and what you can do to stop/prevent it next time. Stay safe and don’t go look for it. You never know who is behind the wheel.

Mine was stolen in Downtown Dallas a couple months ago, alarm was still going off as they drove away. Was able to lead DPD directly to the vehicle due to the AirTags I had hidden in it. Was recovered within 30 minutes with minimal damage. They’re taking them to Oak Cliff just an FYI

So what they must have done from what your saying on how they gained entry, They probably used a tech scanner tool that anyone can buy on line and replicated a 3rd key fob so if you haven't already you need to go to the dealership and have them Perg the current key fobs and program 2 new one's so the old one's including the one a thief may still have wont work because they can just walk up to the car at anytime and just get in and drive away with that working fob..

Yes sir They tried to get my car a Summit racing. Phone alerted me. It's brilliant. Caught them in act . They stash your car, wait to see if it's gps tracked then come back and get them. Re key your car , talk to dealer about ikon . Good luck to you
