Thanks for the video !! I have a question, How do you press Record on your Z Cam if you are using your right hand to pull focus ? asking because I have this SmallRig Rosette side Handle with REC/ Stop funtion that solve this issue for me ! It works for my Sony A7IV and Z cam S6 cameras ! ( Model # 3324 ) Newest version
@joenicklo3 жыл бұрын
I'll usually hit record first. Some like to frame up their shot and focus but I don't. If I could get a left handed REC/Stop handle i'd be thrilled. I had the Clutch handle but returned it.
@DaveyG3 жыл бұрын
I also tried making a diy start stop for this rig but you need some sort of board interface with timings. Apparently zcam uses Sony LANC protocalls, sooo. I would find one that works for Sony and buy it off Amazon so returning is easy if it doesn't work lol. Sorry for the chatter, video was great!

Looking solid! With the Sdi port locked in behind the camera do you feel there is a risk of the port being fried when changing battery if both the monitor, transmitter and camera are all being powered off the v mount? Curious to know because I’m looking to order the sdi module myself. Cheers!

I follow SDI protocol that ARRI and RED put out. I plug the accessories SDI cables in after they've been powered on, and then power them off to remove the cables.

Hi' Joe, quick question for you. Today's July 2022; I'm considering investing in a Z cam like the one you show here, and I was wondering if I will also need to upgrade/update my computer for the 4K/6K editing side of this new gear. I'm currently using a Dell with Intel i7, SSD hard drive and plenty storage room for Premiere Pro. Any tip or advice greatly appreciated! (and IF I will require a new system, what will you suggest/recommend?) New to your channel, thank you so much!

I love the rigging and it has inspired me a lot but I do wonder why you have so much rigging on the operator side/have no defined direction for handheld.
@joenicklo3 жыл бұрын
What do you mean “no defined direction”?
@benchxwychua4433 жыл бұрын
@@joenicklo so when I'm working as an AC typically we define the left side of camera as the operator side. Everything that isn't a control interface stays on the right side of camera. It's just easier to operate and less stuff gets in the way. I feel like the peripherals are just on both sides without much thought.
@joenicklo3 жыл бұрын
@@benchxwychua443 Yes, I know that, but I'm not sure how else I'd rig this. The accessories are on the right, nothing blocks the function buttons on the operator side. The only thing I've got on the left side is my mic, which is not in the way of the function buttons.
@benchxwychua4433 жыл бұрын
@@joenicklo i feel like for good audio you would want the mic on the other side then

Hey, sucks to hear!!! Get the same battery plate I linked plus look up Nitze part numbers E2-FS-V3, E2-FS-SV4L or E2-FS-V3L. You'll attach that to your camera directly then the V-mount plate to it. Your sharkfin will work with that :)
