it's relieving to come to this video and find fellow women taking this same news in their own lives hard.. I was cool when my primary care doctor first told me over the phone , but when the women's wellness department *insisted* I come in for a follow-up appointment , then upon arrival asked me to sign a waiver to let them go up in through my vaginal canal to slice off a piece of my cervix , oh baby , full stop.. what ?! I left that appointment with a brochure about colposcopy and an appointment made for two weeks out to give me some time to think about it.. currently , I'm thinking about skipping out , lol

Had a colposcopy Tuesday after being previously being diagnosed with HPV 16. They took samples from two lesions on the cervix. I am anxiously awaiting results which should come back next Tuesday. prettynurseashley no I didn’t do a colposcopy but she wants us to do a repeat Pap smear on Tuesday.The initial Pap smear was done last summer but she never told me she saw anything. We had an appointment today for a completely different reason and that’s when she was like “oh yea your pap was slightly abnormal, I can see it here on my notes so let’s do a repeat” like really?

Ok the results of the Pap smear on Tuesday should give a better idea of what’s going on and if a colpo is needed. It’s a whole algorithm that healthcare providers use with pap results . The best thing about it is that usually the body is able to clear up the cells on its own and cervical cancer is very slow growing. But I know the anxiety that comes with being told you have abnormal cervical cells. Everything will be okay, you doing the right thing by getting your Pap smear. Let me know how everything goes

Thanks for sharing. My Mother went through this five years ago. From her biopsy they said it looked like possibly stage 1-2, after her surgery we found out it was stage 2-3. But I was told this is the common type of cancer and not to worry. She went through radiation and is now in remission (“thank you Lord!”). Not I’m dealing with this and even though everything went great with my Mom and I know everything will be with me, I’m not ready to tell my family. But to read so many positive comments from your post just made me feel comfort. God Bless.

Hey ladies. We really need to educate each other. A friend of mine had an abnormal smear and she told me it was Cin1. The doctor was quick in trying to getting her into surgery and burning the lesions on the cervix. She didnt get that done and after a year she was healed. Don't be quick sometimes to go under the knife, get 2 to 3 opinions about your condition before taking the final decision. Stay woke and safe

Goodness… Feb 2023 I had an abnormal pap. Got the colpop. I have hpv strains 16/18 which are the cancerous strains. They didn’t do a biopsy but I go in 1/22/24 and I’ll finally get the colpop and biopsy to see what’s going on.. thank you for posting your testimony. Only God Himself has given me comfort thru this. Thank you for sharing your story. I really needed that. I went to the doctor January of 2023 and did my Pap smear and when the results came back a week after they said I had HPV. So I had to get 3 hpv vaccine doses in between the months in 2023. So the beginning of this month which is February 2024 I went back to the doctor to do my Pap smear and the results came back today saying my pap was abnormal and that I would have to do colposcopy. I just been crying all day about it. I just want it to be over. I have a 5 year old daughter and I need to be here for her. So I will be getting the colposcopy done this coming Friday. Hopefully when I receive the results it will come back good news. I’m just praying and putting this situation in Gods hands. When I ran across this video I felt a lot better. I feel better to know I’m not going through this alone.

Ladies! A colposcopy is a pre-cancer screening. It doesn’t mean you have cancerous cells. It’s like a mammogram. You go to get screened for breast cancer. Or even your colonoscopy. It’s just to see what’s going on in your body to determine the next steps if any.

if your healthcare provider recommends a colposcopy , it literally means you have *abnormal* cells.. abnormal as in NOT NORMAL .. don't try to invalidate other women's concerns , anxieties , nervousness , etc. about being told something is not normal in their lady parts and further digging needs to be done . as the nurse that made this video responded above to your comment , a papsmear is a pre-cancer screening .

Drink vitamin b12 and folic acid and a glass of grean tea every morning before you eat anything for about 6months to a year. See if that doesn't help you out

My First Time Having An Abnormal Pap & I Just Went In For My Colposcopy Today. I Was So Anxious I Almost Had A Panic Attack. In All Honesty Getting It Done Is Just Like Having Period Cramps. CIN 1,2,3, not cancer, had high grade cerval cancer CIN 3 and HPV on cervix, used Eschorotic treatment were put tampons with medication on them put in side of vaginal area, normal pap smear in year, still got pregnant, did not hurt sexual function. Also had HPV vaccine and didn't work in my case.

I've been having abnormal pap tests for about 5 years now. Off and on. I've had 2 conization surgeries done. The last one, she took the abnormal cells and sent them to the lab. They came back normal. I've also had 3 kids and after each of their births my pap tests were normal and then about a month after the tests were abnormal again. We are currently still at abnormal pap tests. I just wish I knew what is happening.

I had stage 1A1 adenocarcinoma back in 2020, they got rid of it with x2 letz since then high risk hpv has come back on and off, just recent colposcopy came back with high risk hpv again but this time abnormal cells back, booked in in january in the colposcopy clinic but the medical receptionist said she doesnt know what they will be doing which has made me apprehensive as they cant take anymore biopseys, received a pathology report which was hard to read and on it one of them gave the opinion of tuboendo metaplaysia of the lower uterine cervix. Anyone had anything similar, and thank you for this video very well explained and wish you and all the ladies the best ❤

@@andrealouisesmith Yes! With the first one (the far more pleasant one). Honestly, if the person is skilled, you don't feel it anymore than you do a smear test - in fact, slightly less. I was petrified and bracing myself and the biopsy part was over before I'd even blinked. I promise. They didn't take a biopsy with the second (cells have calmed down) and it was by far worse!

I had an abnormal test many years ago and had a check up again it was normal. Years later I had an abnormal test and they were checking me in 2021 twice I was negative I just had my first exam in 2022 and it is abnormal so I have to have another biopsy ugh so frustrating

I had a Pap smear and my results came back abnormal. I ended up doing a biopsy and they said yes it’s pre cancerous cells. I just had the cryo procedure and now I come back in 6 months

I just found out my Pap smear is abnormal for the 3rd year in a role and I’m going in for my second colposcopy in 2 weeks, the first time they said it was precancerous and would go away on it’s own, that was a year ago. So we will see now on April 4th how it goes. 🙁

I love how you described your experience. I had another colposcopy a couple of days ago, and I'm so scared that I'm in denial of what is going on. I was mad when they were looking cause they were using terms I do not understand (even though I'm a PCA, this was outside my scope of practice). I felt like it was fake just so they could use me as a Guinea pig to teach the Dr who performed it. I'm in such denial. I can't even describe how scared I am. How do I get through this? I'm so scared I'll never get to have kids because of this. How did you find comfort and calmness during this?

Please don’t be too scared fear on its own is a disease. Many people have this problems and go on to have kids. So you will have your beautiful kids this shouldn’t stop you. Good luck and stay blessed

Doctors removed to much of abnormal cells and HPV on cervix using leep procedure were burn abnormal cells and HPV on cervix. Cause problems libibo, orgram function, sexual function, shorter cervix harder to get pregnant, nervous around cervix damage by treatment.

I have gone through all of this and also had a leep procedure after. They found cancerous cells and so I had a radical hysterectomy which put me into early menopause. This has been the worst 4 years that I have ever been through. I only missed one Pap test. It went from normal to cancer in one year. Now I have ptsd from the surgeries and anxiety that it will come back somewhere else.

@@madj7152 my results from my colposcopy came back with precancerous cells cin2 and cin3 with hpv i don't remember what strains but two strains cleared up with vaginal gel I was prescribed the other 2 strains are the high risk ones and if left untreated they can turn into cervical cancer my leep procedure is this coming June with the doctor that did my colposcopy

Me as well just got my 3rd ASCUS in 18 months I will repeat again in 6 months and hope it goes away on its own. If the results come back ASCUS again I will do a LEEP which is more invasive than the Colposcopy. Reason is I want the abnormal area removed instead of doing a colposcopy to check for how bad the abnormality is. They will send it to pathology just the same to get a diagnosis. Unfortunately that was my experience finding out that I was hpv positive. After the follow up I had from an abortion I’ve gotten…I was honestly distraught bc I’ve always been healthy and I never had a true understanding about hpv bc the reality is that it can be frightening hoping & praying that your body is capable enough to fight of the virus on its own… I pray that you get through this luv 🙏🏼🫶🏼
