Enjoyed the Halloween show, the Flip cover reminds me of Will Eisner... Picked up a copy of Judo Master 89, 1966. Cgc 6.0 so the oldest title I currently have. An old favourite from my childhood. Possibly heading down the non marvel/ dc cgc titles from the 60s...like yourself restricted to online purchases. Nice 10cent Journey Into Mystery... Looking forward to the new show format..
@MoncomicsАй бұрын
Thank you! The flip cover is definitely very Eisner-like. Now I have to research Judo Master more as I'm mildly familiar with it. I'm enjoying works from the 60's that were not from the big two as well. I appreciate your kind words!

I actually do love the new direction Brandon. Not everyone will know the details of certain books ie: first time drawing for Marvel or DC, etc. Like I never knew there was distribution agreements in the 60’s with Marvel and DC. Or the rights to character names. Knowing the history of artists and writer’s. There is so much stuff out there to dig into so you will have so much content my friend. I will be tuning in for sure!

i don't know about art, but the paper used gets better and better.
@MoncomicsАй бұрын
I agree, Jay. I should have spoke to being able to see that from the golden age to the silver age. And even though the JIM 69 is better quality than the Fantastic Fears 3, you can still see where marvel went cheap at this time with paper quality and the use of dull blades when cutting the comics which led to Marvel chipping. Once you get to the SS3 from 1968 you can see the vast improvements for the paper to last a little longer. I appreciate you taking the time to watch and comment!

You introduced me to that Dark Horse Presents 137 with that awesome Predator vs Nazi's story. With that you gave me the gift unearthing a Predator story from the 90s I never knew existed! So if education and discovery is your theme now, I'm looking forward to the next 'mind blown' moment. Have fun! I've never seen the interiors to that Silver Surfer 3 so it was awesome to see that first image of Mephisto 👍

I love that even one predator fan learned something from me so I’m motivated by hearing these things to keep it going. Covers are great but the art inside is definitely the star of the show!
@fluxcap_collectsАй бұрын
@@Moncomics One thing I've always interested me is when a book is one of my patented "low-key keys". Something the cover will never tell you, but the interior pages hold something notable if you're a die-hard fan. As an example, my head always goes to Spectacular Spider-Man 58 since that's when the Beetle ditches his goofy silver age costume and gets his more notable armoured costume he had for around 20 years. Looking forward to more mysteries uncovered!
