For generations we have been told in popular culture than "we can be whatever we want." I doubt that anyone in the beginning thought that this would come to apply to biology, but certainly this stance prepared the ground for the current ideology. There was a time when being whatever you want involved hard work, acquiring knowledge and skills and dealing with personal and social obstacles. Slowly it has morphed into deciding what you are and expecting the world to just accept it.

I can see parents getting together to form alternate communities in order to defend their children against this insanity. Add to that the corrosive effects of social media for girls, and games and porn for boys, and the growing uncertainty of the world's food supply, and you have a perfect storm from which to gather into rural communities, not unlike the Amish, but without the religious content, necessarily.

If you want to abolish what you call "gender" then you have to abolish ALL expectations, segregations and prejudices on the base of sex, because that's what "gender" really is in a sum. The TERF movement wants this partly but not complete, some "gender" things they even want more than they ever were in human history (especially the segregation issues) and that`s impossible.

Thank God for Dr. Grossman. Can't wait for her new book to be published in german. My nephew recently came out as trans and our family is still in shock that his psychiatrist prescribed him estrogen. He has some other mental issues and never showed any signs of being trans in his childhood ...he's just a gay young man who (I guess) struggles with the fact that he was adopted. I fear he will make a terrible mistake.

@@scolexuk The problem is that he's already an adult (22 y/o) but because of his mild learning disability he's very naive and therefore, I fear, easy to be taken advantage of. We are not very close and haven't seen each other in 2 years but the next time we meet I will slightly push back and (as Dr. Grossman suggests) ask him a lot of questions hopefully without overwhelming or alienate him. Thank you for your words they gave me confidence that I am doing the right thing although my influence on him is very limited ❤

Psychological distress is real, but any highly specific and interesting psychological syndromes which can be acquired simply by learning about them is dubious. We all present as unique representations of our biological sex. The primacy of biological sex is paramount to our survival, physically and psychologically, being older than humankind, evidenced by our DNA, and collectively spanning back millions of years. The social construct of gender ideology is effectively radical discrimination. People need to accept others for who they are biologically born. If a man wants to wear make-up and a dress, he is still a man... not to be socially construed to be a woman... he IS a unique manifestation of his biological sex.

I’ve ordered your book. I’m concerned about my stepdaughter. Apparently she thinks she’s trans and lives with a very overbearing mother. The mother has diagnosed my stepdaughter as trans and my stepson with ADHD and autism. It’s not true for either of them. My stepdaughter has gone to school counselling where they’re affirming her gender choices. My husband has not been told the exact situation of how long it’s going on. I’m very worried. Our once independent girl is talking about taking a gap year after school next year and staying with her mother. She’ll never be allowed to leave! To me this is child abuse!

You don't need fakary to understand encoded genes. Within your DNA is written the collective sensory histories of millions of males and females at this point in time. Our lot in life is to express ourselves within the confines of our biology, whether you be heterosexual, homosexual or bisexual. Gender is a social construct, whereas biological sex is primordial governing all aspects of your physical life. To call someone gender-nonconforming is outside of the scope of the reality of their biology; that statement is meaningless in respect to biology because biology is WHO you are and you are a unique representation and manifestation of your genetically encoded biological sex.
