As I understand it so far, they're not trying to redefine the word 'sex' in biological terms; they are trying to redefine the word 'gender' to no longer be synonymous. 'gender' has historically always meant "kind, type, sex". So more accurately, they're trying to redefine 'gender' into something undefined and claiming that it is based on your subjective feelings at any given moment.

My beautiful Dad passed away 21 years ago right about the time when "Participation" trophies were snaking in to school sports, (rather than 1st, 2nd, 3rd), and I remember him saying it was the start of a dangerous trend where fact becomes fiction. It seems he was right. 😞 I worked + trained damn hard for all my 1st place medals n am still proud of those achievements 30 years later. I know the science behind physical, DNA, genetics of sex n have no problem if someone is trans. However it's becoming ridiculous because of the few trans extremists. The majority of trans just want to get on with their life without the idiocy of destroying lives if someone genuinely accidentally misgenders them. I'm female n 99.99% of the time it's unmistakable that I'm female, but on the very rare occasion I had my male partners jacket + cap on, without make-up + his dark sunnies on n was buying a bottle of alcohol I had a staff member think I was a young guy in his 20's. I didn't make a fuss, had a giggle actually cos it was not meant with any malice. Genuine misgendering happens, it suks n likely feels horrible but it can be a learning experience, it shouldn't be an all out war the way trans extremists make it. No male/trans female should compete in women's sports, (and vice versa when there is bias). Nor should they be in women only, (toilets, change rooms etc), spaces - I'm not sure the alternative but to allow it is dangerous for all. 😔

I taught a Cultural Studies course in various universities for over 30-years. I left all of that in 2011, when it became impossible, for many reasons, to deliver my lectures freely. For instance, I had students complain to the head of department because I showed a film by Federico Fellini, and on another occasion one by Ingmar Bergman. I was brought into her office and she demanded to know why I was ‘showing pornography to students’. The rot set in when universities began referring to students as ‘clients’. This is due to universities now being run primarily as businesses, with moneymaking as their top priority. They will do anything to appease the client (student). Hence, the students (clients) have a warped idea of course deliveries.

I'm a 22-year-old college student and progressive Democrat from California, and I agree completely with these two: this "wokeness" nonsense has gone too far. It's one thing to believe that everyone deserves healthcare as a human right (as every developed country except the United States has recognized) or that anthropogenic climate change is real and poses a serious risk to human civilization, but it's another thing _entirely_ to think that you deserve some kind of special sympathy by virtue of your race or gender, irrespective of whether you actually suffered any form of discrimination (direct or systemic) because of it. It's also absurd to believe that biological men can compete fairly in women's sports (unless transition has begun EXTREMELY early, although maybe not even then), or that all "offensive speech" needs to be censored even when *IT IS THE VERY TOPIC ONE IS LEARNING.* Absolute insanity. Piers is truly a breath of fresh air on these issues, and I appreciate that there are people like him who aren't too far gone so his other reasonable opinions -- such as that strict gun control has been proven to save lives -- actually have an opportunity to be seriously considered by the other side.

There was a case in the 1960s, a case which ended in tragedy. Twins Bruce and Brian Reimer were born in Canada as two perfectly normal boys. But after seven months, both were having difficulty urinating. Acting on advice, the parents, Janet and Ron, took the boys to the hospital for a circumcision. The next morning, they received a devastating phone call - Bruce had been involved in an accident. Doctors had used a cauterizing needle instead of a blade, and the electrical equipment had malfunctioned and the surge in current had completely burned off Bruce's penis. So he was raised as a girl. When puberty struck at 13 he was unhappy about being raised as a girl and became suicidal. In his 20s he underwent reconstructive surgery and become a man again. At 38 he committed suicide. Here was a child wrongly believed, could be brought up as the opposite sex, who even brought his own control group with him - an identical twin. It showed irrefutable evidence that neither surgery or nurture could over-ride biology. There are other cases of Jewish babies being accidentally mutilated during circumcision and so raised as girls. None can defeat nature. Only men have penises. You need to look at who is pushing this sex change agenda.

The psychological expert that invited them to talk to them and convinced them any changes done before 3 years old would be effective in adult life was a man called John Money. He was a lunatic who had a fascination with hermaphrodite and believed all men should be essentially neutered at birth. He also made the 2 boys perform psuodo sexual acts, undress etc etc at his clinic. This only came out after they interviewed the boys many years later. He was considered the gold standard for gender research for years, had citations from top universities and wrote several books. it's great that you understand this, because this is what's called gender dysphoria. so this man became depressed, because his body didn't match his gender, which was male. so what was the solution to this? to perform gender affirming surgery so that his body would match his gender identity as a man. unfortunately it seems like this wasn't enough for him and he continued to suffer gender dysphoria. im assuming the missing piece in this puzzle for you is that you don't believe that a person can just have a gender that doesn't match their body from birth. but, just try to imagine for a second that that was possible. just because it didn't happen to you or a majority of the population, it doesn't mean it can't happen at all. if you woke up one morning in the body of the opposite sex, im assuming you'd be unhappy about this, because your body wouldn't match your gender identity anymore. so wouldn't the solution be to place you in the body that matches your gender identity?

My mom bless her soul truly believed I suffered from Anorexia when I was a teen because I was so thin. The only problem with this theory was that I loved eating as much as playing sports I participated in volleyball, basketball and ran in track and field so I had an extremely fast metabolism. Three out of four of my kids inherited that metabolism and they burn off their food even before they have eaten it. Unfortunately my metabolism didn’t follow me into my forties which is part of middle age. 😂 Parents just need to keep lines of communication open with their kids and make sure they know you love and support them and encourage them to have common sense and a solid foundation.

Give him access to numerous activities, sports, art, music, mechanics...he'll be fine. Tell him you love him everyday...he'll be fine. These are some of the things I did for my son, now 40 lives on a farm, fixes his own equipment, skis, golfs, fishes with loads of friends, pays his bills , supports other farmers year round and esp. during seeding and harvest, buys local, grows his own veggies, has two dogs, can fix nearly anything himself, respects elderly people, speaks his truth with heart. A true grit , salt of the earth, good man ... with high school education. Trust your instincts and he'll be fine. Written by a proud mama ❤

I'm not sure this has been specifically spoken about but I noticed something with those wanting to transition. First there's a disproportionately high number of adolescents compared to trends through the previous century and second that there's a majority of male to female transitioners. This makes a lot of sense to me, especially with the adolescent. Males are growing up being told from a very young age that they are toxic no matter what they do. If they act masculine it's toxic, if they're too effeminate their looked down on. Then they're presented with this potentially gruesome but socially applauded out by transitioning, especially since they don't even have to have the surgery now to be considered trans. It's kind of heartbreaking but psychologically it makes sense; if you're a male that isn't self assured enough to handle being told you're a monster for being a man. Then transition would be really appealing, especially during that vulnerable time of puberty when you're already going insane due to the natural changes of your body. Be well

I just don't think real life is like this. I think it's the media that tells us we have all these issues such as a trans crisis (when they make up less than 1% of the world's population) and that males will be ostracized for being masculine. Do you experience this in your life? Have you felt like you can't be yourself? I think the media does the same thing with women. I've personally never experienced much sexism directed my way. I think metoo kind of f'd with people but it was helpful in some ways. You see people trying to market it though with like those tik tok vids of supposed creepers at gyms or whatever get demolished. I think people are generally normal and cool at the end of the day and it's the media that has us thinking otherwise. We wouldn't be talking about trans so much in the first place otherwise because again they're very few that are even in existence lol. It's crazy! You don't ever think about that? Not only you should be allowed to choose sex, gender or pronouns but also race, age and shouldbe allowed to assume any govt office holder role. e.g. if a man wants to declare that he(she) is a black woman from a specific state and identify herself as vice president or a senator in US senate or FBI director for that matter.
