Isnt the original one already so sad??? T_T
@cctomcat3215 жыл бұрын
@@hoboemperor I wouldn't say so... rather upbeat. Which songs like Pumped Up Kicks and Bad Touch have shown that tempo and "catchiness" matter. Sure, it's about the same thing, same lyrics, but out of NIN and Johnny Cash, who does the song "Hurt" sadder? I'd say the latter, personally. Oh, and just to be clear, I'm not disagreeing with you, just offering another perspective.

Helena was the first ever song I listened to by My Chemical Romance. It was in 2007, and I was 10. I was going through depression because my older brother had died, and he was the one who kept me going. I tapped on the song accidentally, and it made me cry. For the first time in the month that had passed after my brother’s death, I had cried actual tears. It felt good, and it was a relief to cry. I hadn’t been able to cry before that because it was just a lump in my throat. I felt no emotion other than sadness too strong to even make me cry. I cried so much during the song I thought I’d run out of tears. That song made me realise that the worst of the pain will go away, and, although it’ll always be there, it’ll get better over time. It gave me hope, and, whenever I needed to cry, I listened to Helena. I moved on to listen to more of their songs, and listened to Bullets, and also listened to Revenge. Bullets let me cry, and told me that it was okay. That expressing feelings was okay. Revenge also let me get angry, and it let me destruct things. I turned 13 a few years later, and the pain had returned, worse than ever. I self-harmed and starved myself. I had completely forgotten about the band. I came across the band again, and I listened and listened. Slowly, I began to stop starving myself, and I cut less, and I didn’t realise it happening. I learnt so many things from My Chemical Romance. I learnt that I was beautiful, that it was okay to be angry, that it was okay to want to *cry*. Years later, I found that they broke up, and I cried. I cried a lot because when the band that gave you the chance to do what you wanted to do breaks up, you realise that it’s over; that they won’t be making anymore music. I still listened to My Chemical Romance, and it helped me through the darkness. My Chemical Romance has helped me so much, and they continue to. It’s crazy how much a band can help. You don’t realise it until they pull you out. I wouldn’t usually share this, but since I’m anonymous here, I will share. You’re all beautiful and worth something, because you’re you, and nobody else can be you. 💖

His voice is one of the most beautiful ones I have ever heard, I understand it, even when I'm listening to mcr songs, without the music videos, even if some dont even have video, I can understand his voice nd I even know what facial expressions he's doing while singing. If other people don't like it, well, it's not our problem, bc we're killjoys and we will be here until the very very end, until they don't even have their solo careers, they're everything to me, and ofc, to every killjoy in this family, and I , we, will never forget them. Really memed and underrated vocalist. He is really up there with rock vocalists. I feel like hes skirted into emo memes and even emo culture way too much and it discredits his vocal talent and the instrumental talent of the band. They were amazing. I'm 38. I took my sister to a Van's Warped Tour in 2005 (shes way younger than me, lol, by 8 years). I remember very little from that experience other than Jessica wanting to see MCR as close as possible. I'm experienced in front row stakeouts and so that's what we did. I. Cannot. Explain. I truly just can't explain what it was like to see them live. I didn't even care about them. If anything, I scoffed at them because I was young and dumb and still sort of thought of music as being cool or not cool. I've seen HUNDREDS upon hundreds of shows in my life. Watching MCR live was one of the most memorable by leaps and bounds. I feel the need to elaborate. Instead, I'm going to leave it right there.

Lyrics Long ago Just like the Hearse you die to get in again We are so far from you Burning on Just like the match you strike to incinerate The lives of everyone you know And what's the worst you take From every heart you break And like the blade you'll stain Well I've been holding on tonight What's the worst that I can say? Things are better if I stay So long and goodnight So long and goodnight Came a time When every star fall Brought you to tears again We are the very hurt you sold And what's the worst you take From every heart you break And like the blade you'll stain Well I've been holding on tonight What's the worst that I can say? Things are better if I stay So long and goodnight So long and goodnight Well, if you carry on this way Things are better if I stay So long and goodnight So long and goodnight Can you hear me? Are you near me? Can we pretend to leave and then We'll meet again When both our cars collide What's the worst that I can say? Things are better if I stay So long and goodnight So long and goodnight And if you carry on this way Things are better if I stay So long and goodnight So long and goodnight

This acoustic version of helena was very raw and rare. They don't normally do acoustic cover but they nailed this one. MCR was one of the greatest band that I've encountered. I feel the vocalist's (Gerard Way) emotion for every words and chords that they play. This song has a strong meaning and is dedicated for those people who was left behind by their loved ones. Though the thought of the song was sad, still it gives hope and inspires everyone. It gave me goosebumps! Great Cover! Thumbs up 👍 #eapp2017

this song meant so much to me in 6th grade (still does) because it reminds me of something really dear to me, and I had two moods when I listened to this song. Sadness or Anger. When I sad about the subject, I listened to this. When I was angry, I listened to the album version. I dont know what this was for. I just wanted to say, that even after 4 years of the event that happened, this song still is close to me. It forever will.
@cxssie38267 жыл бұрын
Helena. Helena was the first song I ever heard by this amazing band I heard the lyrics and they settled in my head. My nine year old, depressed, suicidal head. Things are better If I stay So long not goodnight Mainly those two. Those two lines made me realise the hurt wouldn't last forever. I went on to listen to SING, and Welcome To The Black Parade. Those songs kept me going. Now I'm nearly four months clean from self harm, and I'm still here, all because of a mis tap. That's right. I stumbled upon Helena because it came up in my recommended. I'd been listening to Dan and Phil and had meant to tap on another video by them but then tapped on Helena. That was in 2011, shortly after Danger Days released. If I had tapped on the correct video I might not even be here. Fate works in mysterious ways...
