This is so awesome! I wish there was something like this when I was a kid. I'm allergic to dairy and eggs but they didn't figure it out until I was in my mid-twenties. And so I was sick for a lot of my childhood. There just wasn't a lot of understanding or respect for food allergies among society and doctors when I was a kid. I'm so glad that there are so many options now for people with food allergies, dietary needs, and food preferences.

Such an amazing idea to deal with this kind of thing in such a positive and creative way! Such a diagnosis must be so stressful for the parents (and kids, if they are old enough to understand) - and you still managed to come up with the idea and the text and the images to help your daughter! I love your videos they help me learn more about your country, a place I fell in love with the first time I visited! Thank you so much for your amazing content! Kind regards from Germany, Nicola

This is brilliant! It's wonderful that you did your research then just made the thing that you (and your daughter) needed when you couldn't find what you were looking for. I have Celiac disease as well and recently discovered I can't have sugar. I wish I'd had something like this even though I was diagnosed in my twenties, just to help get my head around it. Everyone always asks me what I can I eat as if I can't have anything. But, to me, I feel like "I can eat anything and not get sick! There are so many options and new discoveries!" You've done your child, and so many people, such a service by writing your book. Thank you. Purchased and shared.

Your approach to helping your daughter is fantastic! I can relate as I have celiac and so does my daughter. I was also a child with endless allergies to all kinds of foods. I wasn't diagnosed with celiac until I was an adult, it's often missed, so happy Odette will not need to suffer unnecessarily. As I have personal knowledge from both sides, your approach of educating your daughter is empowering. When I was a child it was an endless list of foods you can't have instead of substitute options. Constant reminders of being different, but I understood that some foods would make me very sick. It really wasn't a big deal to me, it was much more so to my mother and other adults who were always apologizing to me for foods I didn't want to eat in the first place. Also lack of planning on alternatives, not blaming my mother just a different time and parenting style. As a parent my approach was completely different. I prefer to feed my family fresh food, so that's 💯 gluten free and when we eat out I've taught my daughter what to order from the time she was 3, it is great for social interaction and confidence to order and ask questions regarding food preparation. As for birthday parties and pizza parties at school, my daughter has her own food and always extra to share with curious friends. My daughter is very social and her friends understand that she eats a little differently than they do, but her preferred snacks are always fresh fruit. Super impressed with your book and great job.

I love your videos so much. They're really informative and entertaining. I learn so many things with every video. I am actually on my boyfriends youtube account right now, so my name is actually Devanna Temple. I just find it so cool that I am mostly Irish, well black Irish, but my father is a Wolfe. My great grandparents are german immigrants. Such a small world. But I was curious about the Wolfe name, ... are there other Wolfe families in Ireland? I know during WWII a lot of german families were split up. My great grandparents would never talk about their past for obvious reasons but I am still curious ya know?

Thanks so much! Yeah I know some Irish families with the surname Wolfe. My son is called Wolfe. Wolfe Tone was a leader of the Irish rebellion in 1798 which is where we got the name. We also lived in Berlin for a few years and loved the name Wolfgang 😀

Best way to eat gluten free. Don’t buy a gluten free substitute. Learn to live without it or make your own. Gluten free foods mostly have high sugars, high salts and high fats. My wife has coeliacs and now because I followed the same diet I am now Intolerant to gluten. Happy to share a great recipe for egg/lactose and gluten free recipe for pancakes

The only scary thing is kids who have peanut allergies can't even *touch* the foods with peanuts in it, without having anaphylactic shock ? Maybe add one page that says for those children to just leave a NOTE, rather than leaving the actual food items that they're allergic to.
