Remember the joy and love you felt when they were babies and young children. Accept that the way of life is that children should move beyond their parents, concerned with their own lives and their own children who, in turn will give them love and affection when they are babies and small children, and then grow and move on themselves.

This is all so true. Getting rid of expectations on any level is a great first step. I've watched the mother birds, hatch and feed their little ones tirelessly and than when they are ready and she knows they are and she lets them go. We can learn a lot from nature!!! There is a whole world to discover filled with new people and things that need our wisdom.

I am not buying into any excuses for them. EVERYONE HAS 15 min every 2 wks to check in, ask how you are, tell you how they are, share a laugh, say I love you, talk to you in 2 weeks! They do NOT care if they don’t!! Accept the truth and make your decisions and life from honesty!!!!!!!!!!

Have no expectations from anyone, especially your children for whom you sacrificed and suffered a lot for. We brought them into this world, they didn't ask to be born. Expecting our children to be there for us in our oldage is selfish. If they want to help us, that's great. But don't expect it or live in hope, because we will only be hurt and disappointed.

I do multiple animals. I was put down because of this. Let them go. Let people leave if that’s what they want. Yes it hurts but they are gonna get old some day and I won’t be there for them either. So let them and hope they don’t get hurt a lot by people, maybe their own kid or kids in a similar way.

I am enjoying my freedom. Fi nally no drama. The love will always be there. I had to set boundaries in order for my children to beome responsible aduts. I dont expect any of them to be happy with me.

Always good to be an independent person, as we age. Never put all your eggs in one basket Never rely on your husband, or partner to suppport u. Have your own money. Work hard. Don't just be a housewife.The percentage of that population, is disappearing .. Family and friends die off.When we reach retirement , we r often alone. Prepare yourself
