Hi. I enjoyed this video and added so many of your wish list items to mine. Isager....yes! As far as sewing machines, my recommendation is Juki. Juki machines are industry workhorse and are built to last. Don't even worry about the number of stitches on a machine because most people only use less than 5. Juki machines are solid ... will sew through multiple layers of denim, leather and vinyl. And yea... skip Babylock. They are nice, but are more of a label. Juki machines are not as cheap as those $200 machines from Walmart, but they perform as well as the $2000 machines. They are rock solid. One thing to keep in mind is all-in-ones tend to mean you deficient-in-all. Don't go for machines that sew, quilt, coverstitch, embroider because that's a lot of moving components and not one feature will work very well. Get a nice sewing machine(Juki 😂) and maybe add an embroider machine later. I know Brother makes some good ones. The F-line of Jukis are nice, the DX is a step up from the F and they now have a lot more fancier components. If you want to see reviews on Juki machines, Crafty Gemini has a channel showing them off.

Knitpicks has like a bare variety pack of different fibers and weights that I’ve been eyeing when I’m ready to try hand dyeing yarn. I would love to experiment with that. Actually my local yarn store has hand dyeing classes where you just pay for the sock blank and you can use whatever dyes that have and they’ll show you how to do it. I want to take that class with my mom for Christmas.

I’d love to see what you spin if you do get a spindle! I got a drop spindle a couple months ago to see if I enjoyed spinning before I invest so much in a wheel (hundreds as opposed to a couple quid for a drop spindle) and I’m loving it. It’s a very slow process at the moment because I’m just learning (and drop spinning is even slower, both spinning and finishing the yarn because I can only spin small amounts at a time) but I think I’m going to wait a while now before I get a wheel bc even then I don’t think I’ll be making yarn fast enough to keep up with my knitting, so it’s more about the process for me :)

You can get some really nice colours with natural dyes -- avocado pits and skins give you pink, onion skins give nice browns, greens, and yellows, and you can also use used tea leaves and coffee grinds. Would love to watch you testing out some natural dyes!

I've been thinking of dyeing my own yarn too! Since it's so hard to find nice varigated yarns over here, but I'm still looking for the easiest way to dye plant fibers since that's what I'm used to working with. It's still a struggle hahaha

My biggest tip for sewing is to before cutting into your nice fabric to really make sure you have the right size (mostly for clothing), you can make toiles before from cheap old bedsheets from the thrift store or something

Hey Tiffany! About the sewing machine: See if there's a sewing machine repair shop close to you! They usually sell new and secondhand sewing machines there and give a year's guarantee on those 2nd hand ones too. I bought a second hand one at a place like that when I started and I still use it now :) It was like 100 euros so it saves a bunch of money! (Got a surger there too a little while ago for like 80 euros) Hope that helps!!

Could be worth seeing if there are any weaving or fibre groups/clubs in your area -- they can have all the looms and other big gear you need, and you can try out the hobby before you invest -- and meet some fellow fibre enthusiasts!

Great vid❤️ But girly- look for the loom on fb marketplace or somewhere cause people are reselling them for cheaper second hand too! And as a fellow sewist, heavy duty machine is cool but jeans (pants in general) are veery difficult thing to make and its a journey to get there😂✌🏼 I sew for two years and like pants, zippers, zipper flys are V scary still😂 But I will keep my fingers crossed for ya☺️

Hey Tiffany. I've knitted the Novice Sweater with two strands of Isager mohair held together with one strand of their alpaca 2. It is soo unbelievably soft and their mohair is long and fluffy. It is hands down the best quality of mohair I have ever tried. If you really want to treat yourself (and who doesn't?) and want a dreamy, soft sweater, you should definitely try it - at least once in your lifetime. I promise you will absolutely love it :-)

Hey Tiffany ! Buying a second hand sewing machine could be a really good option, I'm not sure how it is in Canada but where I am you can find a lot of barely used ones on a second hand website :) Also you don't need a very expensive sewing machine to sew amazing stuff, and most domestic machines can sew trough jeans just fine, even non heavy duty ones ! Hope that helped ;)

dyeing things is great except it uses so much freaking water. i felt so bad rinsing out the dye 4-5 times :( my only hang-up with dyeing and the only thing stopping me. u should def try the weaving loom you have because it gives you an idea of whats to come lol the larger looms have so many parts and a lot of pre-planning

Isager mohair = Ice a grr mohair I´m Norwegian and think this how you can say it in English :) you know that tiktok/reels sound that's like: oooh ahhh ihhh ojjj - with a lot of echo? the ´a´in isager is more of that ahh sound than a normal ´a´ sound! But man! 20 CAD for isager ?? i pay like 115 NOK - 16 CAD! but its worth it! its soooo soft! the double sunday from sandnesgarn is worth it for the color, but its can pill and isn't so epic. its just like a normal non super wash merino wool. its a bit softer than sunday :)
