Olly heads to Dynodaze to get the ECU remapped on his Honda Civic Type R EP3. Most of the modifications have been leading up to this point. From the Skunk2 Ultra Inlet Manifold to the Tegiwa Induction Kit and the Full Spoon Sports N1 Exhaust system. All of these come together to make the car feel more alive. Olly also installs an Acuity TPS sensor as the OEM unit was throwing the car into Limp Mode.

Great video as always. Shame u didn’t get better power. I think everyone always expect more in there heads. I thought defo be 240hp or tiny bit more. Mines 238hp with rbc tegiwa intake piper 421 with race cat and m2 spoon cat back same size exhaust I believe it’s 2.3ish 2.5-2.75 they say is best but I’m on the fence with going bigger. Car sounds great mate

Car sounds amazing! Theres only about 3-4hp in a 2.75 inch exhaust (named the 3 inch) over a 2.38 inch (named 2.5 inch) on a NA set up with bolt ons only, so the fact that they blamed this on a 20hp loss is unjustified. Take it to another dyno buddy and do a pull, i bet it makes 240+. The Spoon exhaust is a decent exhaust system im running 272hp with it. With bolt ons alone i was running 242-248hp with the exact same Spoon exhaust measured on 3 different dynos. If there is any power loss it will be from closer to the engine which is your Spoon manifold. The Spoon manifold does not flow as well as the typical 4-2-1 race header such as DC sports or Tegiwa.
@OllyRoss

Totally Justified, its all about flow, 2.25inch with an uprated inlet manifold is Just NOT big enough
@kristianharley7231
@kristianharley7231 3 жыл бұрын
@@DynodazeHondaTuners Ollys exhaust is 2.4 inch not 2.25, its a Spoon N1 you should know this since you mapped it. The difference in diameter from a 3" (2.75) to a 2.5" (2.38) inch is 0.37". On a bolt on set up there is no way this small margin can be accountable for 20hp loss. You did a great job at tuning clearly the graph is a nice curve and mid range made 50hp but to blame just the exhaust on 20hp is very unjustified. I have exactly the same exhaust and inlet manifold and i made 248, 245 and 241 on 3 different dynos. At the end of the day its only peak power figures but Spoon the pioneers of Honda tuning do not make restrictive performance parts.

get a 3" exhaust matched to your header its cheaper to change your header to match your exhaust than do a custom system. your throttle body could do with a 70-74mm job. Are you running a catch can i am seeing lot of oil on you intake throttle body.

It's not too bad power wise to be honest. I don't know if this dyno reads a bit lower than others or it is more accurate compared to others but the car may read 230bhp+ elsewhere. I guess all you can do is get a wider bore exhaust and see how it does next time round. 👍🏼
