@@Desilv Your wrong it’s not the same engine used in the X3/X4M. The Z4 & 340i use a 3L B58 engine. The X3M/4M use a 3L called S58. Also Mercedes don’t make small engines so they sourced a 1.3L in for the compact front wheel drive cars and its one engine out of a choice of 5 which are merc engines. All other cars are merc engines in RWD or AMG models.

My 2019 C43 had similar issue but my dealer told me it was the boost pressure transducer/actuator. When it was not functioning properly, I had no boost pressure and the exhaust went into crazy pop mode, and it accelerated like a turtle.Thankfully they had it replaced under warranty. Some other AMG owners had experienced the same issue. I guess that’s MB’s design fault.

@Nick F Congrats, loved my RS. Haven't had any major issues. Be careful when adding a cold air intake - it prematurely burns through your oil (and the oil gauge screen is not accurate sometimes, it would say I'm at 70% when I'm really around 20%). After about 5 months with the cold air intake, it also doesn't sound the same; I may need to get it checked. But other than that, I had my car wrapped & it pretty much destroyed my paint, so I would say away from that too, unless you don't mind dishing out a few grand to get a new paint job.

Well mine does kills the gas a bit when in low speeds and gears, its like the computers forget to inject gas and then remembers it so car shakes a bit at like 5-30/km/hr range. And sometimes it decides to change gear immediately at those speeds either. Btw exhaust sound is always saltatoric, its like increasing and decreasing in coldstartup. Is this your problem?

I don't think it's an issue. The dual clutch transmission does that when it's on lower gear.

Havent heart a case of any 45 series having problems. The A45, A45s and all cla 45 models share the same engine. Atleast the once who where actually built here in Germany. Wouldnt trust a US built AMG.

Interesting. This is one reason why I never buy new, no matter how much I really want one (I've broken this rule a few times tho!). Especially any car with a new engine design or type; there are always things that didn't show up during testing----the real world cannot be simulated. In three years when these come off-lease, this problem (and all the others---there WILL be others), will have been fixed. New models will likely have a new design or a new supplier for that part eliminating that potential issue. Since they've been under warranty during the lease, everything has been done by the dealer to full MB spec. Once it is fixed, enjoy!

And the battery in EVs requires more oil than your CLA will ever use in 400,000 mi , just to make that "supposedly clean' ev. And the 22-40 moving parts on evs require oil to lubricate, and the interior parts use more petroleum than a standard ICE vehicle. I'll pass on ev all day. Hybrid is a much better choice.
