A colonoscopy can LITERALLY save someone's life! By giving this video a thumbs up and/or sharing it, you will help get it in front of someone who NEEDS to see it! Please feel free to ask me ANY questions about the procedure, I will answer them all. UPDATE 2/16: Doctor called and told me the two polyps were benign so the only thing I have to do is come back in 5 years for another one. Phew... what a relief!

@@lathaperi9822 so what you had is an adenoma. I had two benign polyps (adenomas) removed. The doctor told me to come back in 5 years. I would recommend not worrying too much, but I am NOT a medical health professional. If it causes you a lot of stress, consider talking to your doctor, or even possibly a therapist. I hope you get this resolved and continue your happy life as usual!

Thank you so much for having the Guts to film your real life situation and talk about what is often awkward to talk about. Your video answers a lot of my questions and eased my mind on the unknowns about getting a colonoscopy, which is honestly the scariest part. It's very encouraging how quick and painless your procedure was. You got that done in just one morning and then go out to lunch with your bro too! Thanks for keeping it real!

In October of 2021 I had my third colonoscopy, I also had my first endoscopy which I also did wide awake and drug-free. I can tell you the nurses and the recovery room were astounded that I did them without drugs. If I have another one in 5 years I will also do it drug free.

Hey :) I commented on this video last year but I remembered this video & came back to say that I went through my colonoscopy last summer. I'm from Germany so my prep was a little different as I was only allowed to mix mine with water. What did help a lot though was applejuce. I held my glass with the prep in my right hand and a glass of applejuice in my left hand. Then I'd take a breath, take a sip of the prep, swallow it, and then immediately take a sip of the applejuice without having to put it down and grab the other glass first. I must have looked real stupid but it did help the taste so it didn't matter how I looked, at least I got it down. Maybe that'll help some of you, too! I only had to drink 500ml in the evening and 500 in the morning, though but it still took me about 4 hours to down the first 500 so I was sure to start earlier than the packaging said in the morning to I finish it on time. One thing I wish I knew is that it's either all or nothing, you can't really go back after starting to take the prep so you have to push through! But if I made it then you'll make it as well :D

I've been putting off the procedure for way too long. I found your video about a month ago and it really put my mind at ease. I was looking for a new GI today (didn't like bedside manner of two I've seen -wah-lol). I came back to your video today to get the prep method and noticed the facility you used. I'm in ATX! Do you mind me asking what physician you used? Thanks SO much for sharing this.

I was prescribed the 4 liter jug of prep. YUCK!!! I finally figured out to use 4 liters of no sugar Black Cherry Powerade (this is clear, no color). Divide the 235g of Miralax evenly between the bottles of Powerade. The I drank the liquid as directed by the doctor's instructions. No nasty prep taste.

I have a colonoscopy and endoscopy tomorrow, although I'm in my 20's, because I have POTS, which is a form of dysautonomia, which impacts the autonomic nervous system. It does include digestive issues, and acid reflux, so I'm going through the prep, and I'm struggling a lot. The prep is disgusting, and I've been sick a few times. I just had my Colonoscopy on 6-2-24 Tips: Follow the directions they give you!!! I had Golytely so this prep was lemon- lime flavored and split into 2 doses ( mark the container at 1/2 point) Get sour Gummy Bears ( remove the RED/BLUE ones!! colors can show up as blood) and Lemon drops. You are allowed to have these. Pour solution over ICE- (these solutions can taste salty ) pop one or two of the candies and start to drink solution. Drink solution through a STRAW. I found Gatorade to be gross ( worse than the prep! So I omitted drinking it.) It took 1 1/2 hours to drink 1/2 the solution . About an hour later the party started!! Get Aloe wipes to wipe each time you use the toilet. Do NOT use toilet paper!! Have vaseline or Prep H and apply after you wipe. Wear an Adult Depends- added security . Not fun to walk FAST due the Urgency 💩💩💩 So now the party starts. On this specific solution you are up the entire night. Get some good reading material or movies 🍿 They give you “twilight “ sedation . You do not go under general anesthesia. They put an oxygen cannula (under your nose and the tubing goes behind your ears to hold in place.) A warm blanket is given to you and it feels great! You are told to take slow deep breaths through your nose. I remember taking 3 breaths and was OUT!! You’re a bit groggy when you wake and about 30 mins later you’re fine. The Dr will come to see you before and after procedure. I had “ a tiny 4 mm polyp otherwise all clear.” He was not concerned . Good luck! It’s really not that bad. 🎉💩🎉💩🎉💩🎉💩🎉💩🤣😂

The drugs to provide comfort during the procedure I found unnerving. I was fully awake for the first one.
