Man this video alone is better than almost all of the other videos I watched in the last 4 years regarding dieting, loved how you emphasized how eating can be a huge source of stress and how we can get over that, great job as always

When you care about what happens to "food" animals, you don't stress, you do the right thing. 32 years whole foods plant based here. Fit AF at 64. The long term effects of eating animals and processed foods will catch up to you. Life is a marathon, don't pick up rocks along the course.

Good point as always Matt. Sadly many in our fitness culture get into a bad habit of reducing eating to nutrition, to then rigidly control this miniscule part according to some pre-conceived schematic often in service of a need for self-validation or social validation about themselves and their way of life. You don't do nor advertise that sort of way of approaching matters of physical health and for that you have my appreciation and my gratitude.

I don't stress about overeating as long as I'm training hard and getting enough protein. So if someone offers me cookies or pizza at a party that just means I'll bulk up more. It helps that I can lose fat pretty quickly when I really try (weighing all my daily carbs)

Stopped eating sugary foods years ago. Don't miss them either. In fact if I try to eat something with a high sugar content it makes me downright nauseous. Stopped milk too. A little chese and bread on occasion. "Eating right" is work. You really have to stop, think and make the better food choice.

My meal strategy is governed by lab reports. I tweaked my diet until the blood lipids and A1c were within acceptable ranges. For me this means primarily minimally processed plant food. It was stressful trying to ignore the pizza kiosk at the grocery store, but eventually I got over it.

Good call Rick, I wish more people did regular blood work like you did, it's a much better way to asses your health than correlated stats like how fast you can run a mile or what your body fat % is.

Matt, last night I ate a full tub of sorbet and a pack of cookies while watching a movie. I felt guilty, but it certainly motivated me to workout this morning! Due to my work shift patterns, I do intermittent fasting for 4 days (healthy food, omad, short workouts) and then 4 days where I'm more free to eat what I want and workout much harder. What do you think of this?

Hello Bro Do you have a calisthenic exercise for the side shoulders, posterior or back shoulders and upper, middle, lower trapezius and neck, thoracic and forearm,wrist and lower back?🤔
@josipmatkovicdrazica90195 жыл бұрын
athlean x has a video on calisthenics shoulder workout check it out I tryed it its great, for traps ur best bet is handstand pushups, inverted rows(on rings are the best if u have acces to if not bar is ok) ring dips also are great bcs of the stabilisation factor, actually anything u do on the rings will work ur traps to a high degree so if u can purchase them they are ur best bet for building traps with bodyweight.. for the neck wrestler bridges but if ur concerned of getting injured then bodyweight neck curls and extensions and for the lower back bridges would be the best

Hey Matt, how often would you recommend training calves,forearms,and neck. 1 or 2 days a week, 3 sets each? Not sure how to program them. Would appreciate your input
@RedDeltaProject5 жыл бұрын
Like any muscle groups, it depends on how much fatigue you experience from a given session. I would start with 2x a week and then bump up to more if you're feeling you're recovering fast enough.
@jayjalloh39124 жыл бұрын
isnt nutritional support and energy identical? Whats the difference between them?

I would say energy is a component to nutritional support. Nutrition is more of a big-picture sort of deal while energy is one piece of that puzzle

Hey Matt, what causes wobbling during lunges. How can you fix this?
@RedDeltaProject5 жыл бұрын
Instability, which means you may not have enough tension around your hips and probably your hamstrings as well. Try practicing the isometric lunge and flex your entire hip and hamstring complex (and the other muscles in your front leg) to make you rock solid

You may be coming too far up. Ideally, you'll be keeping your shoulder blades together and creating a supportive platform to support yourself.
