Teaser And The Firecat was my first Cat Stevens purchase and it is probably my favorite as well. I haven't picked up the most recent ones. Every Picture Tells A Story is my favorite Rod Stewart album but I love all his early albums and what he did with The Faces. I love The Strangler's song "Always The Sun" which kind of ups my feelings for Dreamtime. I did really enjoy their last album as well. Steely Dan has a lot of catchy tunes, so I'm a little surprised that they didn't connect with you. Love seeing your collection.

Hi Randy. I fully recommend Cat's King of a Land album. It's as if it could have been recorded in 1971

Great collection as always, Richard. Huge fan of Cat Stevens/Yusuf - I'm only now picking up his classic albums here and there, was mostly a singles and greatest hits type before, and man, I had no idea what I was missing all those years! "The Hurt" is one of my favorite songs by him, and it just never clicked here - I think it peaked in the lower 20s or upper 30s as a single, and it deserved so much more. Loved that song since it came out when I was about 10 or so...lots of other great stuff, looking forward to the next part!

Thanks TC, The Hurt must have done better in the states as it didn't even chart here in the UK

Hi Richard - John Leckie with excellent Production on Stone Roses 🌹 debut. In the states , Black & White came with a bonus single a brilliant cover of Walk On By that sounds just like The Doors. Great band .. amazing bass & Keyboards.

Hi David, I think the first run of albums came with Walk on By on 7" as well but it was also a single in it's own right.

Steeleye Span are hugely enjoyable..I really like the first album and then Parcel of Rogues, although Commoners Crown is the one I tend to reach for..Long Lankin is fabulous. I struggle with Steely Dan. I need Matthew and Son but never see it in the wild..other than thst I think I have all the Cat Stevens I need..Mona Bona Jakon is terrific and probably my favourite..( back soon) ...I must stream Tea For the Tillerman II..interesting to see what he did with those songs so many years later. You might prefer earlier Al Stewart when he's less pop and more folk..Love Chronicles is a good album. I like Rod when he was a rocker, smooth Rod leaves me a bit cold. Love The Faces, Nods as Good..great album..Stay With Me, what a song!. I wish i could love The Stone Roses, but alas... Nice Stranglers..Black and White is great, Skin Deep is a fabulous song. Another great dive into your collection Richard.

Hi Richard, glad to see Shaky in your collection, i have those ones on vinyl also, actually picked up a cd boxset with 10 or 11 albums in it a few years ago, contains all of his albums on the 'epic' label plus a 12" remix album. "give me your heart tonight" is my favourite album of his - Lloyd
@CookieMusic432 ай бұрын
Hi Lloyd I have that exact same box set!

Hi Richard!!! Of all the artists/bands and albums you showed, Rod Steward has to be the one i know and listened the most, he was so huge in the 80's and he was the first internation act to play here in 89's to a sold out football stadium (70.000) and he's still very popular. Not a big fan of Cat Stevens or Steely Dan..... cheers and be well

Hi Cristian, yea, Rod Stewart was huge world wide in the 70's and 80's.

Did you like Steeleye Span first or after you found out Bowie played sax on their album? I know you're a very big Bowie fan 😂Rockin' Rod's first 4 or 5 records are great and the Faces OMG they rocked. I only have Inflammable Material. I need to hear more. Same with the Stranglers. I have the first 2 & a best of. I got the first 4 Stray Cats records. They're great fun, but none live up to the first album like you said. Cheers....Ben

Hi Ben, I liked Steeleye Span before I found out Bowie played on To Know Him... I'm still surprised he agreed to do it.

I recently heard a track off Shakin' Stevens' most recent album. It's nothing like his early 80's material, not even his singing, his voice sounds different and he is singing in different style which is odd. I made a sort of an error recently when i didn't buy Buddha and the Chocolate Box. Hopefully i will come across it soon again. I have all Rod albums up to Foot Loose, but haven't dared to go further and don't really have much interest to do so. All albums up to that point are very good though i only like the slow side on A Night On The Town. Fast side is rubbish. Pasi

I think the only reason i have quite a few Rod albums is because they were all so cheap.
