Thunderbuck Ram sounds like it should be a T.Rex song! Not long discovered your channel and enjoying it. 70s my era too. Cheers

I never thought of that but you are correct, it does sound as if it could be a T.Rex song!! Thanks for checking my channel out, it's very much appreciated!

I got a BBC Library vinyl of All American Alien Boy (1st press) the other week for £4, I don't even own a record player, lol.

I really enjoyed this episode as I am working on my Mott The Hoople, Ian Hunter and Sparks collections.

Cheers Randy, there are quite a few albums to get from each artist. There's a few Ian Hunter ones that are only available on CD which I would love on vinyl and Plagarism by Sparks is also only available on CD.

Early Mott the Hoople can be visceral and Heavy, i really like Mad Shadows, still looking for an OG copy. All The Young Dudes still aludes me too. Mott and The Hoople should be in everyone's collection..i love them both although i would say The Hoople is my favourite. I only got around to getting Hunters' first solo album. I need to hear that Mick Ronson and Ian Hunter album. Slaughter on 10th Avenue is amazing, up there with glam era Bowie for sure. Sparks ( Half Nelson) is a decent listen, Todd Rundgren produces. I totally agree , Indiscreet is my favourite Sparks album too.. wildly eclectic and wonderfully produced by Visconti. No 1 Song in Heaven is terrific, Beat the Clock is great. I still need to investigate more 80s Sparks and beyond, there's plenty i haven't heard. Great video Richard.

Cheers Rob, I think Y U I Orta is a fabulous album and well worth investigating. Sparks in the 80's were great fun. Music You Can Dance To would be the one to stay away from until you need it to complete the collection. It's VERY 80's in sound but does grow on you.

Great video as always, Richard. I'm not really familiar with Mott beyond their one huge US HIt "All The Young Dudes" but I like what I've heard. Sparks...gotta be honest my friend, I've tried...I really have...but I have never been able to get into them, they're a bit off for me on most things. I recognize that others are gonna be attracted to them, but they're just not my jam, so sorry...:-) Looking forward to the next installment, sorry this was a bit late, if you saw my show, you know the kind of week I had, LOL!

Hi TC, the next video (the last of the 70's Glam / Pop) has about 12 different artists so it will be interesting to see how many you recognise although one is a definite lol.

Mott the Hoople & Sparks are Hella underrated here in America. The song “Sports” by Sparks is my second favorite song by them and it doesn’t seem to appear on any albums. I’m only 23 and I’ve introduced these bands to my father and younger sister. Do you have any records of Slade or Cliff Richard?

Pt 28 of this series is on Slade and Sweet. I have a few Cliff albums that were shown in one of the Micellaneous section videos. Yes, Sports is a good song and I think it was on a soundtrack. It may also have been issued as a bonus track on the reissue of Sparks in Outer Space but I'm not sure.

Hi Richard!!! Had no idea Mott the Hoople had that kind of short career, not a band i'm very familiar with or even Ian Hunter's solo stuff and the other hand Sparks seems to have a lot of releases, however i don't think they made any impact down here, maybe because they never made big in the US market.... cheers and be well
