I know you said you won't read the comments but just in case temptation gets the best of you (I know how mental health be😅), just know that your fans love and support you to no end because of your talent and your kindness, not because of your body! You're a beautiful person inside and out, and are clearly very brave speaking out about something so personal. I hope your procedure helps you feel more confident in your body and lets you love yourself even more than you did before. You're amazing Janet💕

@Mike Tee no need to be so rude! And Janet liked her comment 😂 we still like to show our support, every other video we comment on we don’t know if she’s gonna see our comments, she can’t read every single one, she might avoid them for mental health reasons like this (which is a really good boundary, go Janet!) or she’s too busy to catch every comment but we still post them anyway. This post is no different. Get outta here until you can be nice!

I am sure this was a hard vid to make, and you could have just not said a thing as its nobody's business but your own, but the transparency is appreciated. For anyone who thinks about joining a patron for someone, you do it to support the artist, not to get a chance to meet the person, or know their innermost secrets or anything, I am a JD patron cause I think she has a gift, that not only makes me happy, but I think everyone should witness. If you think you should get more from that relationship, you are looking in the wrong place. There are places where your money will buy you sex, or nudity, but even in those places you will still wont find someone who wants to be owned by some asshat on the internet. So don't be a dick, except people for who they are, not what you think they should be. Janet can spend any money or love she gets from me anywhere or anyway she wants.

I was thinking the same - like she makes money off her work, so why would she not be allowed to spend that money however she wishes to? Does not mean anyone owns her body because their money was spent on it... that's not how money/paying for something works... if it did, I'd sue Amazon for paying their employees poorly, because I've ordered from them, so some of that money is mine... it makes no sense.. I'm so sad she feels she has to justify it! Or even just state that she did not spend "our" money.... it is not our money anymore, we willingly pay to listen to her music etc! What she does with the money, is all up to her! 💗

I know you likely won’t read this, but if you have the condition I think you’re suggesting (Pectus Exvactum), there is another option. Instead of breaking your ribs, just three small cuts to put a metal bar in your chest, the bar is flipped, and your sternum is popped back out so your rib cage has the “normal” shape. Called the Nuss Procedure. Something for the guys out there to consider if they have this issue.

0.04% - 0.17% of people on this planet have red hair and blue eyes. It's hard to describe how incredibly special and rare that makes you. It's heartbreaking that you, or anyone, feels like they need to mutilate themselves to look like everyone else. Is it any wonder? Little girls see all the women they look up to doing just that, and now you're one of those women. I'm sure there were women you looked up to or that you idealized that played a massive part in this decision. Whether or not you're conscious of it. The hostile media, brainwashes a specific group of people into hating themselves and feeling guilty. A group you're a member of, that's a shrinking minority, accounting for less than 8% of the world's population. I hope with all my heart that all the girls who look up to you don't feel like they need to mutilate themselves as well to feel beautiful. Especially the incredibly rare 0.02% - 0.085% of people who are girls with blue eyed and red hair. The way everything's heading, there's going to be a day when the last person with the MC1R (red hair) and OCA2 (blue eyes) genes is gone, that's a tragedy. I know it seems like this has very little to do with the subject of this video but it's related. Feelings of insecurity, inadequacy, shame, guilt, embarrassment, inferiority, self criticism/deprecation, weakness and submissiveness. Social media has made these things epidemic, constantly comparing yourself to others. People you're told growing up that you aren't as good as, or that you're less than. It's all bullsh*t lies. People, well mostly one group of people, have been gaslit and conditioned into never feeling proud of who they are, what they are. It's wrong on every level. Everyone should feel love and pride for themselves and their people, everyone. Most people do and that's fantastic. Unfortunately, only one group of people is told they're not allowed to. No matter who you are, you're special and a unique miracle. Be proud of who you are and love yourself. Unconditionally love your body, your face, your mind, your people, culture and everything else. It's all priceless and worth preserving. Don't ever let anyone, not even the people you look up to, try to convince you that you weren't made perfect the way you are, or that you need to mutilate or artificially modify yourself. I'm sure you won't read this, like you said, but hopefully someone will. If even just one young person reads this and decides not to imitate the insecure people they look up to, that's enough. Bring on the hate, cause I have enough love to go around...

First off, who the hell would write a hateful comment, this is for Janet's fans. Anyhoo, a close family member of mine has the same condition(pigeon chest) and a case of flail ribs(the bottom ribs stick out from the ribcage). A male, I guess it might be different in a self-esteem point of view. It posed no health issues and he worked out and went to the gym and although it's still noticeable, not nearly so as before like when he was very young. I didn't know there was actually a surgery to fix or change it; not including the enhancement that is. No one should make someone feel bad about having an elective surgery to correct an issue or to help one feel better about themselves. I enjoy the sound of her voice so much. The Irish accent is absolutely mesmerizing.

Not wanting to discuss your body in/with the general public makes sense. That seems more a thing you would keep more to your intimate relationships. Friends/family/lovers etc. You shouldn't feel badly about that. You already share so much of who you are with fans/the public, that they should be satisfied with what you are willing to share. That however is the 2 edged sword of fame. There is a thing called sympathetic resonance. Sometimes people who resonate with the things you say and do and how you carry yourself in interviews. It makes people really familiar with you and you may be viewed as anwextention of that persons family even tought you've never met. But YOU may not resonate back with them. I mean really to you most people, who listen to you, are a faceless name on a screen or random nameless face in a crowd. They (even we) are strangers playing a part in other peoples lives that we aren't even aware we are playing. Some people are very possessive in that state, some overly familiar, some aw struck and thus standoffish. EVERYONE is different and You, possessing fame, are a focus for peoples attention. Even this comment is a waste of time if I am to take you at your word that you won't read comments on this video. Likewise even if ou do read it. It only carries what meaning you give it in your mind as ou interpret the words you are reading. So why take to heart what we read. The person writing seldom knows the true us anyway. Then again a complete stranger has never lied to us before so perhaps it's easier to believe they would be telling us the truth. Remembering also that we tend to be our own harshest critic so accepting praise and adoration from others can sometimes be difficult. We are prone to be suspect. Why is this person being so nice to me? do I really deserve it? etc. ...any number of ways any given thing can be interpreted. And most of them will be right, according to our own unique points of view. Keep the critiques which are useful to you ,that is to say those that help ou progress down the path you choose and disregard the rest. But don't be surprised when you find the path you chose wanders from where you THINK it should go. Just as the branch stems from the trunk and reaches toward the sun. The path of the branch is seldom perfectly straight, but always reaching in the right general direction.

I'm not surprised in the least to hear about people telling you that they feel they own a part of you. Our society can be very toxic when it comes to how we act towards those in the public eye. It's disgusting that anyone could actually feel so entitled to the point of believing that they own a piece of your body. Those kind of people are just sick.

I am not sure how many would fix that issue with the broken rib approach, but that sounds awful and way less rewarding. It is her body so it is her choice. She is happy and healthy that is all that matters.

Well done for making this video, I have a similar rib condition - Protruding rib cage and a hole in my chest. It can take a huge toll on your mental health and how you view your body
