My former colleague immigrated to Australia. However, after a few months, he returned to Singapore and expressed his view that Australia is a racist country, stating that 99.9999% of the white population there holds racist beliefs. My vendor is an Australian citizen who studied and worked in Australia. He even owns property there. However, he had to leave Australia due to what he perceives as severe racism. Australia is sadly one of the most racist countries in the western world. I'd feel even more safe being in America than being in Australia, because at least with American people are not silent and will try their best to rise and fight for their rights. Australia on the other hand has too many people who do not stand up to problems such as Racism, Xenophobia and Islamophobia. Really sad to say but Australia is the last place you wanna go to as an ethnic minority person.

@@anneanne9009 Yes, really. Where I originally came from was a lot more racist than it is in Australia. Other countries and the things that happened there are far more extreme than Australia. Of course racism exists in Australia as it does in every country but it isn't as bad as everyone makes out to be. Just because you cant speak an Aboriginal language it doesn't mean its racist. How the hell is Iggy Azalea racist? Oh yeah, because she's white.
@missrandom24049 жыл бұрын
I think the video is saying she's racist because she's white and wearing a sari? I dunno she's not BME so it's fair game to call her racist with no fucking evidence whatsoever. They are racist people here- no doubt. Why not talk about the Cronulla riots AND the reprisal riots? Or the disgusting gap in education, health and life expectancy between indigenous and non-indigenous Australian's? Why is the focus so much on our past rather than what's actually happening now? Also, since when does anyone hate the Sudanese? I'm so fucking confused by that schematic, again no evidence whatsoever just regurgitated as fact "these people hate these people"...

Have you ever seen the movie White Girls? No-one called those guys racist. In fact the movie was so popular they made a sequel. And that was a deliberate satire aimed at rich white culture. Iggy's video had her wearing a sari (sorry if I misspelled). It doesn't appear to me to be intending to ridicule Indian people.

I understand wanting to get views, but when people make videos like this they're sort of misleading... You should change the title to "My country is not racist but: 1 or 2% of it is, therefore we inflate their actions and suddenly, idiots on youtube are claiming that everyone in Australia is racist"

Do Chinese admit they’re racist?
@nostalgicguy10178 жыл бұрын
The bit where he says the english and chinese hated the Greeks and Italians during the post war migration period is weird. 1. cause there we barely any Chinese living in Australia ( thanks to the white policy ) 2. It would be plausible to say that it was the anglo-celtic australians that disliked the greeks and Italians coming in, seeing as they were the main majority and the ones running the country. Also Iggy azaela doesn't seem that racist, intact I'd say she isn't. Deep down we all have our biases when it comes to viewing and interacting with other races of people. Also who is this guy doing this video, he comes across as a clueless hipster wannabe lol

I was born and raised in the state's and I met an australian today. not gonna lie, I automatically thought he was a racist. though he was beyond "laos is in between Thailand and Vietnam on top of cambodia,.." he did mispronounce some cities. but hell, he's prob more tied to my blood roots than me, but only by geography. I'm sure he was mind blown by my accent, but I was already bored before I even started in, in our short Convo. look, face it. austrillians < Americans. not cocky at all. just that it is more appealing for reasons. it's less racists, more diverse (more accepting..-facts) & more successful. u know y? bc money is money.. and watch how far his mentality will get him out here. the US may look appealing, but I think ppl will eat him alive if u let them... nation of the guns and sh.. welcome to a whole 'nother world. then he told the next girl he was from England to sound appealing. lamp. maybe Americans r'nt always the smartest, but I figure we just get confused by the constant variety in exposure we get, for the most part. go over compensate some more though. the only ones he's getting along with is trailer trash reflects..... not butthurt in anything he didn't even say at all, or the individual citizens, but austrillians as a whole, your culture seems behind, not appealing, + lame at. bout the only austrillians that made it big here, is iggy. so.. yeah.. b proud of that. rich, famous, had most likely ppl working for her and she still couldn't keep her mouth shut. racist much?!!
@ahhwe-any74348 жыл бұрын
* maybe not always confused but just used to difference. maybe not embracing it, But just accepting that" it is what it is." its not completely new. it's "normal" enough ppl wouldn't question sh as much. see now that's diversity. can't say the same for austrillia. I pity the fools out there

@01:04 that's not actually true. The Commonwealth Electoral Act of 1962 gave indigenous people the right to vote in Fed elections. The 1967 Referendum gave the federal government the power to count indigenous people in the census. Before that, Aboriginal affairs were exclusively the domain of state governments. It received 90.77% yes vote.

Aussies in general are great people and it's a beautiful country, racism is just more more extreme there than most other places. The main issue is the unwillingness of them to not acknowledge or even believe it's an issue. Out of sight out of mind I guess and through government policy, out of sight is definately a thing.

Yeah but in Canada ALOT of minority groups stick to themselves & contrary to popular belief the U.S. & the U.K. have way more people open & willing to date outside of their race, celebrity culture exacerbates that stigma!
@billydorus91979 жыл бұрын
Tosin Mebude you're pretty stupid and obviously don't know Shit about Canada where I'm from.We are the nicest most easy going people on the planet, only topped by the Irish who are even nicer, so wtf are you talking about
@To411u9 жыл бұрын
I live in Canada, lol I live in Calgary Alberta, & trust me when I say that people date way more outside of their race in the U.S. & the U.K., in Canada, its not as common (although its improving). Yeah & being nice & easy going doesn't mean squat, anyone can be like that, people in Australia, the U.S., the U.K. (All over the world are like that), this video is about racism (not about which country has the nicest people) & mind you racist people can still be nice (on the surface) true tolerance/ respect & racism is tested when ur Son or Daughter is willing to date/ marry outside of their race, when u can put Color/ Race aside to live with someone for the rest of your life that's the strongest possible form of showing a person is not racist, (I'm not saying everyone has to if they choose not to) but its still doesn't happen in Canada that MUCH, to make me feel/ think the country is somehow less racist than other places where it happens way more & has more Bi-Racail People despite having more White People (& fewer minorities) at times as well..
@billydorus91979 жыл бұрын
If you think Canadians are more racist than Australians I'm sorry bro but I'd say your fairly mistaken,who cares about marrying outside your own race at least we aren't intolerant to other races living here, Australians are racist as fuck, they are openly racist and abusive and intollerant of other cultures,not all if then but the majority, to say that Canada is worse than Australia in terms if intolerance I'd say I disagree
