Thank u man… i do not respect military that much, although i do believe that people who go in there are usually highly ethical, they want to serve and tend to be selfless, nevertheless the higher ups are quiete paycopathic and captured by corruption, hence thwarting the morals of the whole institution, when wars mean profits, we are fuked. It's careless, it's horrible, it's unnecessary, it's inhumane, it is a crime. But one thing it is not... A genocide. It's not a systematic cleansing of a complete ethnic group from an area, or the whole world, because of their ethnicity. And by using and repeating this false categorization, a lot of people will not take this serious, because now they believe everything is blown out of proportion. If you scream false definitions at people, who are already critical (for whatever reason, not always does it come from a bad place), you will not win them over. But we want them to look deeper and confront the facts. Since they know, that over 2 million Palestinians live in Israel and have the Israeli citizenship, dropping the term genocide on their head feels to them like you are trying to dupe them with lies. There are enough powerful words, that factually describe what is happening. It's constant war crimes, it's cold-hearted and carefree murders of civilians, it's the bombing and burning of children and it's vengeance and revenge by cruel soldiers committing private cruelties against humanity, it's torture of many innocent and unarmed inhabitants.

This is exactly how I felt. As a father, every time I see an image or video of a parent carrying what remains of their child, I am filled with anger and resentment toward the people making it possible. The only thing I can take solace in, is that I'm not American and that I'm not funding any of it. But because of that, there is nothing that I can do directly to express my position to the American government.

Well, being American and not being able to do anything about it other than contact my representatives (in vain) & help raise awareness is extremely depressing. The people in the Uncommitted movement are trying their best to use their leverage to persuade Kamala to take action and state that she’ll commit to an arms embargo. MI is a swing state and thus one of the few that will decide the election, yet Kamala has refused to even meet with the representatives from the Uncommitted movement. We are trying, desperately, but our pleas are falling on deaf ears. 💔

However, I’d argue that what this American man did and other Americans who have also resigned in protest have been important, and hopefully it will inspire others to follow. These people and others are using all the leverage they can, we just need more. We can’t afford to lose hope and stop pushing for change when the stakes are so high.

The way he speaks about the children killed as his children really resonates with me, I can't help but see the children in Gaza as my little siblings, my heart breaks every day since I first learned about Palestine, knowing I can't do much of anything to keep them safe from the everyday terror and threat to their lives.
